scine09
As far as pure announcing, a lot of it is who you know. If you listen to some minor league announcers they are far and away better than some of the clowns these major league teams roll out there. Many of these major league guys have gotten breaks based on contacts. I know we're on a different sport but if you have siriusxm turn on some of these teams and listen to the announcers. Although I'm not sure I'd recommend it because you may fall asleep. You wonder how these guys got jobs, regardless of who they knew.
Starkiller
Well the color guy is always an ex-player so they don't go to Syracuse or Northwestern to become a sports broadcaster professionally like all the other guys on the air. I mean, it's pretty easy to change the color guy as long as the guy has some experience. But that's what's wierd about Romo. He has no experience as far as I know but he is replacing Simms just like that. Maybe they have already given him screen tests and he aced them but still... scine09
I have never met anyone or spoken to anyone that likes Simms.

TitanedUpSince'70
Romo may be on his way to $150 million, or more, before his NFL/TV career is over...

Come on Titans
It would be funny if Dak sucks this next season & moving forward. The OL lost Leary & Free, so it could happen.

One article about should Romo go into the HOF is one too many. It should read should every former Cowboy be inducted into the HOF?
titansfb
Texans don't need a good QB. They'll probably win this shit division again.

Then again I remember they used to make a big deal about Boomer Esiason, how all the networks we're going to have a bidding war over him. He got handed the MNF gig right out of the gate, which seemed a bit nuts. And he wound up being a disappointment. He's still had a nice media career but he wasn't the star they thought he'd be. Tiki Barber was another one. I just wonder why if it's so hard, and all these kids go to broadcasting school for it, how are totally untrained players given too gigs from the get? I guess they do have experience because they've constantly being interviewed, that has to help. Credibility in the public's eyes. They have it. You don't.
