The wolves on the Left can have him now.  Replacement must be found for 2020.  Done with him.

@ben4titans, McCain and Graham are praising Trump for attacking Syria. The GOP war hawks love this move. If you give up on Trump, looks like the establishment and swamp dwellers will be there to fill your space.

MAGA Twitter is done with him.  Big night for the Left. They get their war and a real chance of winning back 2020.  Have at it.

In all seriousness, I respect your stance on this matter.

I may NOT word this artfully so here goes.

It seems that most conservatives care more about the dead than living. Trump cares about these dead Syrian children but cares less about living Syrian children refugees.

Letting them into our country or countries across Europe isn't the answer either.  Trump is right in creating safe zones within their own country or neighboring countries, how he and the world community manage those safe zones is where it gets tricky.  However, safe zones are the best answer.

Agreed.  allowing a million + refugees into the west is a poor solution to a complicated problem.

Fuck it. I hate Trump but I'm in favor of the air-strikes. I don't want to escalate US involvement in Syria but what they did deserved some type of retribution to show it won't be tolerated. I hate to say it but Trump is right in saying that had Obama done something like back when Syria did this the first time maybe this attack could've been deterred. From everything I've read Obama only made a show of wanting to do strikes and insisted on getting congressional approval because he knew they wouldn't allow it, so he could say "sorry guys I tried". He could've acted unilaterally. The better option would have been for NATO to actually grow a pair and take care of business so that the US doesn't have to go off on their own and take measures like this.

To counter this it is dangerous to commit act of war without congressional approval.

I agree with the airstrikes in this instance but Syria seems like somewhat of a damned if I do and damned if I don't situation. The #1 priority in the Western World should be taking in as many of the innocent civilians got up in this mess as possible.

I agree 100% Which is why my approval of this action does not extend to any future military involvement.

Obama did unilaterally order air strikes in 2013 after Congress told him no.

Edited:

If GOP lawmakers thought striking Syria was the right thing to do in 2013 they should have lobbied for it. Instead they excoriated Obama for trying (even if he did not really want to) and then later for not trying.

Right but didn't trump just carry out air strikes without even going to Congress? What special power does trump have?
