They have had gronk and Edelman/welker on the team. Not to mention hernandez AND this year they have bennett. surely you can see the difference between having those players that thrive on getting open/catching in traffic with trotting out a 5th round rookie as your #1 receiver and having your only effective pass catching TE being a guy that was just cut by the J E T S. maybe when wright and walker are healthy it will be better but they did the QB and the offense no favors by sticking to that nonsense last week. MM keeps having to wait for guys to get open or he doesn't trust them to be where they're suppose to be. And that's a result of them not being together long. Again Sharpe can't be your number one and expect things to run smoothly. The kids a rookie. Even the first round pick rookies are never expected to do that. Some don't even play right away. Jd8
I haven't read the whole article yet but probably explaining why it's good to bunch his pass catchers up? I hate when he has trips on one side and the revivers are all basically on tOp of each other. The only benefit I could think of is it gives the outside WRs an extra option rather then being pinned up against the sideline. But why do the exact opposite with your pass catchers of what your QB has had great success with? That doesn't make much sense but the offense all together doesn't make much sense. Just some things I would think would be negatives - I could see it causing confusion for a young QB. Common sense tells you that it's easier to see/read guys when they are spreaded apart rather then all bunched up with multiple defenders also in the area. Much smaller throwing lanes one of the benefits of the spread offense and spreading guys out is you usually have much bigger throwing lanes. With Robiskie genius idea of bunching all his pass catchers up I would imagine the throwing lanes to be much smaller because everyone is condensed into a smaller area and defenders are all around. It could be harder to go over your progressions when you have your WRs and The DBs All breaking around the same area. It also gives the WRs less of a chance to get any YAC when you have 1-2 extra defenders all around because of the tight formations. With spreading guys out sometimes you can get a lot of extra yards by just one guy missing. Of course none of it is facts just my opinion and I think that the offense gains more from spreading guys out rather then having them all standing within arms reach. But I'm not really one to say because I hate everything about Mularkey/Robiskies offense.

"We think we've got some guys who can run." http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0573588015289474617-4 He also mentioned them not getting to the proper depths, other details they need to be doing like small adjustments against certain coverages. PK was asking him if they lacked speed. The question wasn't "what's limiting the offense" it was something like asking if the lack of speed is a problem. I'm surprised an disappointed that PK didn't ask JRob about Mariota's deep passes! Or how does he think he's progressing from last year?
abenjami
Here's a (not my) theory. The field is 55 yards wide. Mariota cannot throw deep passes. Bring the receivers closer together so they are all within Mariota's throwing range.

kyle021
Wright had to be smiling. That shit is thinking he's getting paid based on others not producing. When he steps on the field and gets 6-80-1 the fans will go bananas

AussieTitanFan08
at least now we have a better understanding why the offense sucks so much, its simply flawed from its foundation. condensing the field as a primary foundation is crazy, more bodies crammed together means receivers are easily re-routed/bumped off their routes also means any half decent zone defense is going to have a tonne of interceptions against us. I don't need to know which apple is the best one in the barrel to spot the rotten ones. A significant number of the plays I've seen since the All-22 came out are pure junk, that won't work in a league where defenses are built to stop pass-happy offenses. Asking your QB to beat 4 DBs and a LB or 2 (or 3) won't work with any consistency when all he has for targets is 2 WRs. Both end up double covered and there's nothing underneath whatsoever. But you also have no fucking WR who can go deep, you have no WR with speed. Eventually the coaching staff needs to see the limitations with the O and change the scheme accordingly. Also JRob has to look at what is missing and maybe make a trade to help his coach out. Either way, after sundays game, the titans need to adjust to what the teams is. The AFC south is a winnable division. Being stubborn, from the coaching to the GM will not be good.

OILERMAN
I'd argue a bunch concept makes sense when you have no WRs you can go deep. It's basically a way to try and scheme the WRs open
