I'm just waiting for Kyle to make a new thread about DGB's drops, and how he is currently working on another mock to insure he is "right" again.

Looks like Teresa Walker is doing that for me.

Walterfootball has you guys a mock if you want it.

Dont be getting mad at me because dude sucks

FTR: I wasn't even gonna bring this up. Way to go!

Oh, I don't really care enough to be mad.  It's just easy to poke fun at you because you're so transparent.  He may not pan out, but it isn't panic mode time (like you suggested when we drafted him) just yet.

Its really painful with DGB.  He has the most elite skill set of any receiver we have had come through here, but it seems like to me, teaching consistency has got to be one of the hardest things to teach.  It's a mental snafu, and completely different from teaching a guy to work on his poor fundamentals. Coincidentally, Hunter has the same problem and my dreams of having both of these guys peak around the same time as Mariota is  becoming little more than just a dream.  I wonder if they could bring  in a sports psychologist to work on these projects.

Antonio Brown dropped a few today as well, I guess he sucks too

Really?

You think people have low hopes for DGB because he dropped a few today?

I have low hopes for DGB because he keeps showing consistency issues.  Mariota calls him into practice, he jumps offsides.  Then during games he lines up in the wrong spot.  This year he tweaks his hamstring first thing, possibly a conditioning issue.

We keep getting excited about rookie receivers based off a few great plays.  But those plays tend to show up less and less the more time these kids see the field. It was the same story with Hunter.  Am getting tired of knuckleheads.

Oh, I think most fans, myself included, still have high hopes for him, but the new staff has been clear in what they want from players; hard-working, smart, accountable.   They have also made a point get dependable receivers, guys that have sure hands and are in the right spot.  Obviously his talent allows him a longer rope than most, but he has to become more consistent.  If not, I guess we will see how much this staff practices what they preach.

The good news is that we aren't exactly loaded a WR right now so he has time to bring it all together.  I'm still hoping he succeeds.  He has beast potential, I just get the feeling this new staff is not going to be as patient with projects as we've been in the past.

It won't ever be panic mode time with DGB. We may have spent a 2nd pick on him, but we moved down for the opportunity. With management now in place that supposedly places a high premium on route running and catching it isn't as big of a deal if DGB pans out. If he does, great. If he doesn't the guy who picked him is no longer an employee of the team. Win/semi-win.
