Did the math and, based on last night's valuations, if I still held all of the assets I sold from early 2019 - January this year, I'd be down 15%. What I bought is up 3%.

I'm quite happy with that trade-off.

Similar here.

I sold Feb 18, and what I bought is up 5%. I am up a net ~19% vs holding at the moment.

On a side note, bitcoin had sort of avoided the collapse until now but it took a big shit this morning.

Yeah, I noticed that. BCH went from $260 to $175 or something. It was up in the $400's a month or so ago.

I've been watching it lately and that thing is volatile AF.

There has been a ton of money to be made investing in crypto due to volatility.  You just gotta be willing to take the risk of being one of the suckers holding the bag when the music stops and that could literally happen any day.

Access to the internet is just as likely to lead to revolts. When the fear mongers and conspiracy theorists have a loud voice and a widespread audience, the gullible in the audience do stupid things.

Ironically, Trump being president calms them because they will do all sorts of shit to irrationally defend him, such as ignoring a pandemic.

If this was happing under Obama they would be calling it a government plot to put people into FEMA re-education camps. There would be people armed in the streets and it would be like the Bundy ranch incident all over again. Right wing gun nuts would be taking over National Parks shacks in Oregon again.

All of this is temporary.

I’m not sure how you don’t get the point. Keeping people distracted is paramount at this point to not losing control.

I simply disagree that the internet moves the ball in a more stable direction. If anything it allows the voice of fear, panic, and conspiracies to spread.

Yeah, people will be more easily distracted by shit on the internet than without it. But people would have found ways to distract themselves in the pre-internet era.

It’s fitting that in Contagion the guy driving panic and violence was a Jude Law huckster with a blog...

Assuming we get a bump tomorrow, would you guys even debate withdrawing out of a money market account?

Debating as I feel like we’re gonna go down more through April, to starting coming back this summer.

It absolutely moves the ball in a massive way in this type of situation. Let them eat cake so they don’t bandy about and go full on thunder dome.

I'll be honest here.  I'm almost tapped out from buying all I can buy at these prices.  I have a few hundred bucks left, but nothing major.  I've already shot my sticky wad and damn proud of it!

When the SPX 2525 hit today, that was all I needed to see.  If the SPX did somehow hit 2400 though, I'd throw the last bit of cash I have at it and be content to wait out the carnage.  I dedicate this next funky song to the market hitting that hellacious correction number of 2525...
