But he's mostly just pretty good as opposed to very. I don't know that the distinction seems meaningful to others but it is me. ... and I'd take him over Flacco pretty handily. Every QB has bad games and bad moments, but his have come at the absolute worst times on the biggest stages. Give him credit for making the playoffs every year. We certainly haven't felt what that's like in ages. He's been abysmal in the playoffs. And he doesn't have any outstanding trait. He's pretty much average to above average in most categories. He's an average sized QB with average arm strength. Has some athleticism, but wouldn't be called fast. Accuracy and pocket presence are good, but you wouldn't call him elite in either. Then I made my list. If Peyton Manning was still playing, I am sure his name would be up there on some lists. I even included Mariota on my list as a possible top ten because I think he could be there. Brees I think is getting old. Somebody is going to figure out that paying QBs such a high percentage of your cap money will create a pretty sorry team down the road. John Elway played QB, he knows. That's why he's putting a journeyman or a rookie behind center on a championship team.
