I'm not sure what OKC does at this point. Trading Westbrook would basically dump them into lotto land. I suppose the Lakers could offer something like Russell + Randle for them but I'm not sure that is good enough. I don't know why they wouldn't just wait and sign him after the year though. If they stay healthy, they could set another regular season record. You nailed it as to why they are not a lock to win the next two titles. Poor Memphis. They don't have a shot to put together a team like that one. Not enough money and the city is just not attractive enough. They had a good coach. Instead of getting a shooter, they fired the coach. A gentleman was put in charge BY THE NBA because they felt comfortable with his decision making. And then they basically embarrass him by saying no, that won't work. I'll stick to it. The handling of that situation by the NBA was unprofessional. Commissioner had no problem with the trade until some owners started bitching bout it. The two situations aren't remotely similar.
