Muhammad Wilkerson trade on horizon?

Im sure the Jets wouldn't want to take a big, if any, contract back in a potential trade.... I would hope we wouldn't involve either of our 2 1st round picks, but I'd definetly consider a conditional 2018 draft pick which could escalate into a 1st round pick... Maybe 2017 3rd and 4th round picks and conditional 2018 draft pick.

I don't think Norman comes to Nashville over DC all things being equal.  So if you are implying a significant premium from DCs offer, I'd have to say no way.

Agree with your comments re: Wilkerson.  Dude's a beast in his prime who plays angry.  Not sure if there's a "he got paid" risk with him either, as he takes great pride in his game and is not a talker.  If the Jets would take a contingency deal for the lesser of the 2017 1st rounders, I'd be all over it.

Yeah, no way he'd get lazy. Dude plays his ass off, top character guy. I love him.

And no way I'd pay much more than the Skins for Norman, I just thought we should've involved ourselves more. You never know, Nashville seems to be a place people fall in love with. A lot of guys like Steve Hutchinson have brief stays here & then settle down for good. And we really need a corner bad, though I like these young guys. Norman was a stud last year.

I doubt it's even close to a possibility. I have the feeling that the coaching staff and GM are fine with the roster and are looking more into developing their own guys. We have a lot of young talent on the Dline. And I think the Dline will be stout this year.

But Jones is not and will not ever be in the same category of Wilkerson. Players like Wilkerson are rare! A 300 something pound guy that is good against the run but still very athletic and explosive that can change a game as a pass rusher!

That is always worth a first round pick! I would give up more then a first because with the draft There is so much uncertainty even with good GMs. You are not gurenteed anything! But with Mo you are gurenteed you are getting an All pro I would bet anything even after the big contract just because the player he seems to be. He didn't just explode durning the end of his contract he has always been a very good productive player since he came into the league.

How many 300+ pound players had 12+ sacks last year? Only Wilkerson I know of?

I would trade trade first round pick and possibly a Mid/Late round pick for Wilkerson.

Could you imagine the pressure we would get with just 3-4 guys. It could be one of the best line in football if Johnson developed with very good depth.

I would trade a high pick as well. Wilkerson is worth it.

Players like Watt and Wilkerson can lift a team to playoff caliber.

Disagree. We have Casey and we just got Johnson. Jones is starting to really come on, too. Would Wilkerson be an upgrade over Jones? Yeah, he would. Is it enough of an upgrade to make up for putting that much of our cap into our DL? I don't think so. I think we've created a nice DL through the draft, and it's time to start getting the benefits of that.

This guy's a hare's breath from Free Agency and y'all want to burn a 1st round pick to get him?  And an existing player?

I don't understand that at all.  If he's all about the cash, and not about the team/coaches etc. I doubt MM-JRob want him anyway.

He's a monster, but I say stand pat and see what we've got now with the changes that have been made, or invite him in and see if he wants to play for MM/DLB.  But I wouldn't burn big money, player(s) AND a high pick to land him.  Not when the DL is already the strongest unit we have.

Fans labeling players as greedy, selfish, or money hungry just because they want what they deserve in what is a multi billion dollar industry, is probably my biggest sports pet peeve.

Also just because dline is our strongest unit, it doesn't mean we can't improve. Why not try to be the strongest dline in the NFL?

Being satisfied with a unit or attempting to make a balanced team is one of the dumbest strategies imo. I think you always should try to carve a distinctive identity.
