I don't know how to feel about this. If LaCanfora is right & there is the potential for sale, there's no question it would impact the search. We saw this recently with Doug Marrone, who used the escape clause he had written into his contract, as well as Parcells a few years ago when he was Team President in Miami. He had a huge out clause. People want to know who they're going to be working for.

On the flip side, I'm yet to hear of any sale talk from anybody aside from LaCanfora. And at the same time he also says they want to hire a Polian/Manning duo to run the team. Why would they do that if they were looking to sell? He's all over the place.

That said, I've had this recent feeling that we're going to be very disappointed in who we wind up with. Don't ask me why, it's just a feeling.

It may not necessarily be because of ownership uncertainty but there's some great jobs out there, NYG & Eagles are huge markets with great ownership, the Colts have Luck, even the Dolphins & Browns, while not nearly as appealing as our job, have very aggressive owners. These guys are unrelenting.

I just have this bad feeling that we're just gonna go trough the motions with no urgency. We'll see.

The bigger issue is Whiz getting fired after a year and a half with 6 months to work with a rookie QB. That will cause coaches to pause but ultimately there are only 32 jobs so who knows how big a deal it really is.

There is no hurry to hiring a head coach. Winning the race to hiring a new coach before other teams do, is not going to make us more successful. Just look where that got us last time.

Getting the front office in shape so that everyone is on board and working towards the same goals in an organized manner is of utmost importance over the next 2-3 weeks. Once everyone is in place and discuss how to turn this organization around, go out and find your fit as the head coach.

Ding ding.  There are no proven NFL winning coaches available so why rush the decision.

Let's not mistake "motion" for "action."  See Haslam, Jimmy.

My hope is that AAS is holding her cards close to her vest.  Just because we aren't seeing things doesn't mean that they aren't happening (and I REALLY hope that they are).

If you read the article, his use of "could" and "would" makes it subjective.  Here's what we know:

1.  The ownership group and Underwood have consistently reiterated that the team is not for sale whenever this comes up.

2.  There likely is a faction that does want to sell - the Susie Smith/Tommy Smith portion - given he was pretty much forced out by the other owners.

3.  It obviously will come up in interviews since any candidate will want to know their plan and vice versa.
