MIKE75
Mike, seriously consider sending this to Paul Kuharsky. This is really good analysis and would be interesting with national attention. I think it deserves it. Well done. I think that would be a good idea. I twitter with him from time to time i might do it that way.
cenj
I believe you need 3 years before you can really start evaluating a coach's tenure. I said it with Muchak and it applies to Whiz too. Maybe be the end of next year, Whiz will prove to be a total bum. But he needs multiple years, drafts, and offseasons to get his guys in and run the system he wants. We all knew the talent was atrocious and impossible to fix in 1 offseason. And Webster is as bad as it gets, which complicates things. The biggest plus Whiz has over a guy like Munchak is his connections. Horton and LeBeau are big fish, and Whiz himself is a more proven offensive mind than anyone we've had in years. Remember Bilbo? Wasn't he sold to us as some young guru? He's made some seemingly terrible decisions, but I still question if last year we were tanking a little on purpose. People complain that Whiz doesn't adapt, but after throwing Mett to the wolves and getting him hurt, he's now Uber cobservation in protecting MM. LeBeau came in and the defense looks way improved -- yea he's an idiot in 3rd and long, but we're clearly improved despite marginal improvement in talent. The fact is people will complain about coaching decisions as long as we are losing. It's a results oriented league. Whiz has shown he can win with a good QB, and MM developing is priority #1. Let's see if the improvement continues this season.

I usually agree Cenj, but this guy just keeps making terrible game day decisions, and one of them resulted in our QB getting the crap kicked out of him last year. Whiz did this in AZ also. It seems like he is close to losing this team, maybe I am reading it wrong, but players certainly seem to be getting more vocal. I actually like the direction of the team, and contrary to most, I think RW is not doing a bad job. I just wonder how much influence Tommy Smith had in this coaching decision, and the contract. He seemed to be heavily involved at the time, maybe the decision to give a guaranteed 5 year deal is what got him replaced. If he was in charge, that deal had to go through him. Tex in a Can
If and when we do hire Whisenhunt's successor i really do hope they have the vision to go with a good up and coming coach and not another Wade Phillips,Mike Shanahan, etc. With the right people and vision this could be a really good team. What hurts most to me is the thought of too many wasted seasons before someone figures things out. For instance the next four years we have Mariota for cheap this is the perfect time to bring in some top name free agents and start trying to make a run at the postseason while his contract is low. It may be interesting to note many of the fan calls here this morning in Houston. They are calling for their next coach to be a tried and true former NFL head coach and not some "college experiment". Tex PS: they also have a desire for a big name former HC.

I feel the same way in theory, but HCs often show you they're wholly incapable before the end of year 3.

OILERMAN
Something i heard Mike Florio say today was although it didn't lose the game like it did against the Colts and Bills when the Titans were making a comeback against the Browns the defense allowed Manziel to hit the long bomb to Benjamin to seal the games. You basically have to count that as the defense failing in a big spot late in the game too...... Florio ranked Whiz on the hot seat BTW
OILERMAN
We all knew the talent was atrocious and impossible to fix in 1 offseason. I think with the current talent and schedule this team should be 3-1. Mariota is playing good enough to win and the defense has certainly been more than good enough vs the opponents so far. After 4 games this team has underachieved
TampaTitan
It's the biggest game of the season for me, it's on TV here!!
EagleEye
What sucks is that they're not showing the Titans game this Sunday in Hawaii. They showed everyone so far. Maybe b/c both teams suck!
enigma
Kuharsky is apparently tired of the "close" talk as well... http://espn.go.com/blog/tennessee-titans/post/_/id/16354/enough-talk-of-close-the-titans-need-to-beat-miami?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

The NFL is a year to year league, teams go from last to first all the time. The Titans should be winning their games so far. They blew two games they should have definitely won and lost to Johnny "freaking" Manziel. Inexcusable.
pat
Titans are trending to underperform against the minuscule 5 expected wins. The bright spots make it worse. We have a committee not a team. No one seems accountable.
