I'm realistic but haven't backpedaled once. Either Mariota develops into one of the best QBs in the league or Webster miss-played his hand. There's no way to know if Webster turned down an RG3-level trade but the opportunity cost is obvious. Leonard Williams was right there at #2 and would be starting for the Titans alongside all the rest of our defensive additions. A stout defense with explosive QB play can get hot and win big -- see the Ravens and the Giants. You've gotta be a Vandy fan. Because otherwise how many "wait til next years" can you really stomach? Warmack was a Leonard Williams type sure thing. He hasn't lived up to his hype. There are probably several later round picks that would have been more talented players they "should" have drafted instead. But they were operating on the information they had at the time. Leaf was a mistake in hindsight, but at the time no one knew he would bust so hard. Leaf was the right call at the time given their incomplete information, but in retrospect it was the wrong call. This isn't some complex hindsight position this is something we all talked about before the draft. Sure there's risks we can't quantify like "will Mett go on a bender in Tijuana and get beheaded".
