Tampa Bay Buccaneer record 1988 - 2005:

131 - 157

Winning %:  45.5%

Seattle Seahawks Record 2006-2009:

28 - 36

Winning %: 43.8%

Titans record 2010-2013:

28-36 (no, not a mistaken copy from above)

Winning %: 43.8%

Wow, he's been remarkably consistent over a 27 year career. I now understand why we had to wash away the mediocrity that was Fisher in lieu of this massive winner!

Cute but meaningless. Ruston was just a scout most of that time in Tampa. In Seattle, he was a VP the whole time, just like his first couple years here. As a fan, It's impossible to gauge the effect he had on those franchises in those roles.

Even his first couple seasons in Tennessee, he worked under Reinfeldt. What was his impact in those years? Who knows? He got himself promoted. That's all we know.

Chris Johnson is my only real beef with Webster so far. He's been solid otherwise, but keeping Johnson as long as they did was a huge mistake.

I want to see the results of Webster now that he's teamed up with a real HC.

It is often said that a leader is only as good as those around him. As the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Tennessee Titans, Ruston Webster is undoubtedly the leader of the franchi

I've vacillated a lot on what I think of Webster. On one hand I think he's generally made reasonable decisions and good risks while being put in a bad situation (no quarterback, depleted roster, misma

Good one Jonboy   After the 2011 season Webster said that everyone in the room(front office minus Munchak were in the room) knew the problem with CJ and he was 100% blameless, then in 2012 I know Mu

He has a 27 year track record as a front office executive and the record speaks for itself. For the most part he has been a main cog of a losing culture.

BTW, Ruston left right after Tampa's glory period and they got way worse in the immediate years after he left and Ruston bears responsibility for that too though it's not captured in his record above.

So was Rob Bironas but that doesn't mean he was a bad kicker.

I think W-L records are pinned to QBs too often in the NFL but a VP of Player Personnel? A scout? Damn.

I bet we could walk into the front office for the Jags and find at least one guy that's good at his job. A caterer or something.

It would be impossible for the Jags to be as bad as they are with a competent VP Player Personnel over a 27 year period. At some point the competency will rise through.

And I like thw way you wash away VP of Player personnel like it's a nothing title. Lol. Yeah he was mopping the floor.

He has a 27 year track record and it's a piece of shit.

Name one, specific, poor decision he made on behalf of either the Bucs or the Seahawks or just admit you're talking out of your ass.

But you're right about competency rising through.

The fact is, the best evidence we have for his competence is the gradual incline in responsibility he attained over those years by people in much better position to judge his performance than you or me.

Fool in my book.

Now he may be saved if Whisenhunt and his staff are the real deal, and we win the lottery on a franchise QB. That doesn't mean Webster is terrible or that he hasn't made good decisions -- he has. But his blunders have been too major to overlook.

24 years in scouting and front office with 2 different organizations before making it to GM. Gradual is a good description.

Lmao. He wasn't the gm or coach. Ridiculously stupid to judge him by w/l while he was not the GM.

One more thing to consider...Munch was hired by Bud, and Webster inherited him and his staff. Munch and his staff were horrible at developing players, so maybe now with a big upgrade in staff we can see if these players Webster has been getting can actually show some improvement.

Seems like this franchise has been stuck for 10+ years trying to fit players into a certain scheme, sounds like we have a coaching staff who is finally smart enough to build an off/def scheme to fit the talent we have. This could actually finally be fun to watch.
