Refer to my earlier post.

Transformed a very bad SD offense into a very good one (top 5) with a bunch of spare parts and a very good rookie in Keenan Allen.

I think the best thing he has done is turn Philip Rivers career around plus he got more out of Ryan Matthews then anyone could have expected.

I like this hire.  Glad we went offense. Glad we went to a Cowher disciple. This could fail or succeed, but the decision makes sense after having

attempted to grown an assistant into a Head Coach. Wiz knows the drill (Roman, Bevell, Quinn would all have been learning on the job as Munch had done).

Guys...sometimes you all listen to the media heads too much. He didn't turn Rivers career around. Look at Rivers Passer rating rankings for the past three years. He had one off year. It's not like he had 3 years in a row and Wiz turned it around.

Anyone who doesn't understand this is a massive upgrade to Munch isn't paying attention.

So about 80% of the forum was happy with the hiring of Whisenhunt...and the guy was a total disaster. Interestingly enough, roughly the same percentage of fans are unhappy with the Mularkey hire.

I think it's a great hire.

I'm not shocked at all he picked us over Detroit if that really was the case. It was media fabricated bullshit that the Detroit job was so much better than others. Having 2-3 big name guys doesn't make a roster. And Calvin's almost 30 & has been getting nicked up. You don't win with guys like Stafford, he's a stat compiler.

I'm also not surprised he was impressed with Webster. I'm very confident in Ruston & think he's a very sharp guy. All this stuff about him being a power monger was ridiculous.

Imagine being a Lions fan right about now? Ken Whisenhunt spurned your team for the Titans and now it looks like your two choices are Jim Caldwell and Mike Munchak. Wow.

Caldwell is probably better than Wiz. Seems to me that he has a lot in common with Wiz. Went to a superbowl and lost. Lost his QB and got fired.

I hope that Whisenhunt has improved his clock management. He had issues in Arizona. I remember a game in which he used both of his challenges in the 1st quarter.

after watching these playoffs, i'm not sure there's any HC whose clock management you would like  :D

wow this IS A TOTAL SUPRISE to me I never even thought bout him as  a possibility honestly. I remember when we first hired munch the report was Webster wasn't at all impressed with whiz haha guess they were wrong.

im totally pumped its not Caldwell and the fact he picked the titans over Detroit is a good thing though I think it could be more of him wanting a real shot to win the division which wouldn't happen often with Detroit.

but this kinda scares me for locker....I mean a oft injured qb in kolb cost whis his job in Arizona.....do you think hell be scared to touch locker?????

I know kolb was definitely a lot more injury prone than locker, if you look at kolb wrong hes concussed lol.

Agreed, this definitely suggests that Webster was not looking for a puppet HC. And while Smith may or may have not been smitten with SEA, Webster's the one making the decision not him. Good that he let Webster make that call

Wow code. Ayers is a perfect 3-4 OLB. Brown can play the other spot. They just need to sign a couple good ILBs that shed blocks and tackle. As for the DL, Casey can play DE and slide inside on passing downs and still penetrate. Klug is a goner and I'm not sure how Morgan fits. Everyone can be replaced.

And you know what? I'm fine with that. Morgan wasn't holding up his end anyway, and this means we won't have to rely on finding a now-rare pass-rushing demonic terror DE. Those are getting about as hard to find as $2 bills these days.

Bring on the space eating NT and run-stuffing DE's baby :cmj:
