Devin McCourty is a corner playing free safety because he's too slow to play corner. He's smaller than Jason McCourty and he can't tackle worth shit. He doesn't make all that many plays either. When Griffin is playing well, he's a top 5 free safety in the league. Like Oman said, his problem is inconsistency and that's the only aspect that you could argue that Devin McCourty is better in.

Collins may make some sense if we're picking closer to 10 than 1st overall. I'd hope for a Marcus Peters, Amari Cooper, or Beasley if we're picking farther down. I think Gregory is going top 3. We'd be very lucky to land him.

I read that he has tight hips and can't cover. Just been trying to figure out if Hali would fit our system or not. I think he'd be great for us in a Terrell Suggs type role. Another name to consider is Orakpo if he can be had for reasonable money (the injury may allow a team to sign him to a short-term prove it deal). I'm expecting Morgan to back though with as much as all the coaches rave about him all the time.

I would have thought you would have rated CB as a higher need than safety. I actually think BWW can develop into a good player though. But yeah, the SS spot is a bigger hole than FS imo. I like Damion Stafford though and hope he can fill the spot. If they don't think he can, they need to go after a SS in free agency. Btw, agreed with most of the other stuff in the blog. He's absolutely a better safety than McCourty. And It's also interesting to me that out of all the impact free agents that could be available that you chose a safety. We're fine at safety I think. We need to sign a WR and a couple OLBs

Pass protection is not a weakness for Sankey. Marv Sunderland (Titans scout) was raving about how he is great in pass protection and can play all 3 downs. In fact, passing downs are where he will be the most utilized. And McCluster will be in the RB room according to Wisenhunt.
