  1. 100%. They had a favorable schedule ven in the playoffs. Not that I get down with washing away the success and turn around last year simply because that's what jealous, scorned Titans fans do of the schedule but it made things much easier and it's hard to imagine they're as good this year. We'll see.
  2. Vrabel wanted out because the team sucked and they wouldn't give him control to fix it. He can have been correct that Carthon wasn't ready and also been an asshole and someone they shouldn't give control to. And that can be true even though NE suddenly improved the moment they have him control.
  3. While Vrabel 's team is better than the Titans, it will be a perennial task.
  4. Willis was one of the worst QBs I've ever seen play. But he was worlds better as a QB than a gadget player. He fucked up instantly the moment they put him in to run a gadget play. You could put a make-a-wish kid in and have better odds.
  5. I'm perfectly happy sitting in the patience and excuse making camp this early for a guy who's driven like him a who flashes brilliance like him. This isn't the case where it's everyone else's fault (though the barriers last year were immense) and he has no flaws but he has enough upside and drive that I have plenty of hope remaining that he'll overcome whatever flaws do exist.
  6. Nah. There's no more virtue in pretending nothing is happening any more than pretending preseason games are a reliable predictor of offensive design and team fate heading into the season. If you can't even find value in looking at a quarterback's basic fundamentals as a way to note where he's at developmentally, you might as well treat training camp the way I treat most of the rest of the off-season and just go fuck off with yourself somewhere instead of bitching myopically at even the smallest, most direct gleanings from play.
  7. "He's missing a bunch of standard, easy throws with / because of bad mechanics but he made a one-off throw on the run so don't worry about it" ...?
  8. I'm getting old but calling a throw a "seed" sounds so pretentious and stupid it makes my butthole pucker.
  9. It's not a fun watch but I think it's informative. You should take the time. It was a good 60-70% of throws where he points out that Cam's feet / body aren't aligned with where he's throwing, which means he has to do it all with arm talent and that leads to inconsistency / inaccuracy. Just bad fundamentals and it led to misses or took yards away from completions where the receiver had to adjust. Also a few plays where Cam read it too slow. Overall, kind of a disconcerting watch. I paid attention to see if he would comment on the timing and communication of that longer throw to the right, in particular, since people have suggested he might have just expected the receiver to continue and I figure if Warner thought that was the case then he'd call it it ... but no mention of that.
  10. I don't keep track of QB personal coaches but I would hope whoever this guy is has a proven track record of helping QBs improve in the specific areas Cam needs. I kinda doubt that's the case, which is unfortunate.
  11. The footwork here is painful ... and something you can actually take away from preseason as a legitimate concern. We'll see how it is when bullets are live.
  12. Forgot to add, this game has a lot of Bloodborne DNA. I happen to much prefer the build meta in Dark Souls over the gameplay of Bloodborne (which felt much more basic to me) but the character design and gameplay are definitely more in the vein of Bloodborne and the aesthetics have the gothic vibes people seemed to enjoy in Bloodborne. One character (Jan) almost seems a "here, this guy is your Bloodborne default" feel.
