NFLStudent
I wouldn't give you 99 cents for Cutler or Romo. I'd rather start over again with some rookie then to with those big armed fanasty QB's.

cenj
I guess I'm in the minority. Firing MR and keeping Munchak and Webster is the right call to me. Munchak has total locker room support and the players never quit the entire season. He had a rough year after taking the team to 9-7 with Hass last year. The drafts have been very good and we have good young talent, while we have been pretty awful in veteran roster moves. Let Munchak bring in real coordinators and give him another year, and let someone else make decisions regarding roster moves.
OILERMAN
Did anyone catch Munchak blame the pursuit of Manning as one of the reasons the team struggled? From Kuharsky: One other point of interest out of Munchak’s Monday press conference: On the very day he got a vote of confidence from Bud Adams, he also took a veiled shot at Adams for the second time in two days. He said the Titans haven’t had a normal free agency in either of his two seasons. The first year the timing was altered by the lockout and last year “with the Manning thing limiting us.” The Manning thing was an Adams-directed, failed pursuit of Peyton Manning, during which other potential targets signed elsewhere. tinman
In the end BUD was right.. Had we landed Peyton manning we would be having a totally different conversation. I wonder if MR gets the blame from BUD for Manning not wanting to come here..
japan
wow. This makes no sense. He's just an administrator. It doesn't make sense? It makes perfect sense. Its the same reason Bud fired Jeff Diamond. He was making too much money and Bud thinks he can get the same work from fewer people. (Don't get me wrong. I have been wanting Reinfeldt fired for a while. He was a terrible hire.)

Clearly I was wrong about his role. He didn't assume Underwood's former position. He was stuck somewhere in between GM and COO. He also continued to have the final say over personnel which is reason to fire him alone.

I wonder if MR gets the blame from BUD for Manning not wanting to come here.. I think this is the main reason Reinfeldt was fired, and a 6-10 record because of it. headhunter
I think Reinfeidlt poor performance with free agency has caused him to get fired also add in the fact Buds grandson needs that position to gain experience, which makes sense. I wonder if MR gets the blame from BUD for Manning not wanting to come here.. Although it probably wouldn't have mattered, Denver contacted Manning first and he ended up going there. The Titans only started the pursuit when Bud demanded that MR do it. What would have happened if the Titans contacted Manning first (before Denver)? Probably the same result because the Manning family knows of Bud first hand, but that's only a best guess. Bud's thinking may be that it is MR's fault for not going after him right away before Denver did.

Actually what I think you're missing is the fact Diamond and Underwood had more of a role in players than you thought. They made final decisions on player matters. Diamond decided whether to cut Daryll Lewis when Reese and Fisher disagreed and Underwood made the case to Adams to cut VY because of his on the field performance. What you're dead on about is the fact that this does little with improving the 2013 prospects
enigma
Just shows you that Webster is good with the cap and better at picking talent and the team and front office feels that way and no need for Mike. Which is a great sign for Webster. Not certain that Webster really has that much to do with it given the Titans have Vin Marino. Which...likely...made MR even more expendable... http://www.titansonline.com/team/staff/vincent-marino/b4810aff-de5c-4b76-a15b-a02d3bfc27fa
Guest
Reinfeldt had a very bad post season interview with Bud. When asked what went wrong, Reinfeldt said, "You know we probably should have just let Fisher hire the coaches he wanted."
OILERMAN
Does anyone watch Mad Men? Remember the scene were Bert Cooper, the old owner of the company, is walking through the work area and steps on a piece of gum? He looks around and sees a secretary chewing a piece of gum and tells her she's fired. Bert Cooper = Bud Adams
Jonboy
Main reason Reinfeldt got the axe is he didn't act fast enough on Manning. Adams had told him privately he wanted Manning before making it public. Reinfeldt didn't take him seriously. http://blogs.tennessean.com/titans/2013/01/01/so-why-did-bud-adams-fire-mike-reinfeldt/
