Generally takes more than a season to get back from an ACL injury. Not worried about Britt unless he wants too much.

The guy is a stupid player/person, he doesn't work like he should and he's constantly getting into trouble. He drops half the passes thrown to him.

Yea they should keep him until his deal runs out but you also have to move on without counting on anything from him.

They didn't run successfully in the first half, they had 12 carries for 34yds with a long of 6yds. Even if you add in the 3 Locker runs the numbers are bad

This is essentially nonsense. It lacks all context and relevance of what actually occurred in the game based on down and distance and game situations.

In fact, only one time the entire half did the team get set up in a bad third down situation because of running the ball. The run game in the first half took regular chunks, albiet without producing a big gain.

Drive one

1
st
and 10 – four yards CJ

2
nd
and 6 – four yards Wright

Success, put team in good position on third down. Pass game failed on short third down.

Drive two

1
st
and 10 – five yards CJ

2
nd
and 5 – two yards CJ

Success, put team in good position on third down. Pass game failed on short third down.

Drive three

1
st
and 10 – five yards Locker

End First Quarter (entirely good from run game)

2
nd
and 5 – four yards CJ

3
rd
and 1 – six yards CJ

1
st
and 10 – two yards Reynaud

1
st
and 10 – four yards CJ

2
nd
and 6 – three yards Locker

Success, run game continually moved the ball forward and set the offense up in good position. Pass game failed on short third down.

Drive four

1
st
and 10 – two yards CJ

2
nd
and 8 – negative four yards CJ

1
st
and 10 – three yards CJ

1
st
and 10 – four yards Locker

2
nd
and 6 – three yards Reynaud

Mixed, didn’t produce when backed up but team converted. Run game then produced good position for pass game. Pass game failed on short third down.

Drive five

All passing

I don't have a problem w/ how much they ran it early from a production standpoint. It's just very difficult for a young QB coming off a bye to get in a bit of a rhythm when you're only throwing it on 3rd downs especially when those throws are obvious passes due to the spread. At least have CJ out there and run PA. That's the main prob I have.

But again hindsight is 20/20 and I don't have much problem w/ the coaching staff in general.

Jamal I'll go ahead and say you have swayed me partially with the stats and situations you have posted. I'll agree that the pass game failed too many times in good 3rd down situations after decent runs. But you gotta have more than 12 carries for 34yds and a long of 6yds to really say it was a successful first half running the ball, especially against this defense. Even if the passing game failed miserably on 3rd down it's not asking too much to get more production from the run game. But I must admit your stats paint a better picture than just the raw stats.

Well thanks for that. I did feel it was somewhat hard to argue against, and I think it presents the bigger issue, namely that with a conservative approach like that... you've got to get lucky and always have perfect execution, or you've got to catch the defense somehow with the pass game. We did neither... which leaves little margin for error.

The run game worked and the pass game sputtered, but even then it may have been the wrong choice. At the same time, it set the table for the success going no huddle late. It's hard to know what exactly should have been the gameplan, because many things are far more interrelated than they seem and things are never quite as simple as we likely feel... especially in hindsight.

Heck, maybe they did realize they gave Locker too much early and are making a stronger effort to set him up. Maybe just converting a third on one of those first two drives would have opened things up, but instead they got limited... you just never know.

In the end, this game was unacceptable. Figuring out exactly why is the difficulty.
