The over throw toward Nate down the middle was due to a DT jumping straight up in his face. He lofted it to get over the DT, probably b/c they had been batting them down. Did anyone else notice this? I did notice it and the reality is that there just wasn't a ton of space to make the pass. There was a general lack of passing lanes at times. I'm not sure if that's a scheme or offensive line issue. He hit a few holes for nice gains, but I felt like we saw a lot of running side to side again after coming to a complete stop in the backfield. I'd love to hear what people say after rewatching. Unfortunately, but for a few they'll say whatever they saw live. When he hesitates, as you felt, is there a cause? I suspect the answer is "yes" and that cause is defenders in the hole. Big plays, completion percentage at about 55 percent, can run for first downs, a little erratic. His benefit though will be the league is set up for passing now, and his WR corps as a whole, esp the top 3, will be better than anything Mac had. I'll give you that. I saw the DT too. But he's gonna see that all day every day in the NFL. Its about timing. Without the speed at which he threw it, it wouldn't have reached Nate at the same time. Munchak just said during his press conference that Locker was trying to throw over DL Campbell (who's 6'-6"~). Just a matter of a throwing lane not being there which is something we all saw. Even though AZ's OL is pretty bad, at least we know this DL can make plays against that type of OL. Of course, we want the DL to be just as effective against the best OLs in the league. That question hasn't been answered yet, but will during the season. If the DL performed like crap last night, then as fans we would have something to complain about. I'm glad we look so dominant -- it means the DL is at least moderately improved from last year -- but it also makes it near impossible to see how anyone else is. I saw several open receivers running and some blown coverage, but the QBs were too busy running for their life that the DBs never got tested. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think there will be opportunities for the DL to look pretty good against the NE OL NE OL has not looked very good so far They've got two starters coming off major injuries (Vollmer and Koppen) Connolly's a stopgap Solder was a major project coming out of college and looked pretty shaky at times to me in the limited times he did play And now he's protecting Brady's blindside He wasn't a great player, but I think they're going to miss Matt Light Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
