Trees in NE of town even worse than pictures I saw. Obviously, trees down due to ice, but saw some gargantuan ones just completely uprooted from the wind & hills as well. Power back on around 4 PM today right as the house dropped to 40 degrees, which was my cutoff point to get the hell out with our kids & dogs. It's still out for houses, streets, and areas all around us. Check on those neighbors if you're in a lucky spot, even the seemingly capable ones. Had to help save medication before it froze for our young neighbor with Type 1 diabetes in an even older house. Preparedness and capabilities don't give a damn about this situation. Basically, anyone local is heading into the worst of the north for the pay OR going south to take care of rich communities for a free vacation somewhere warmer. Speaking generally of course. But yeah, multi-layered issue. For sure. There's a lot of factors to it. The linemen teams are doing great work for their numbers. It's a disaster zone out there.
