Whether he’s the top WR on the roster is another story. They may decide to keep him, but they're not going into next year with him as the clear cut #1 like last year. No chance. They'll either overpay for a WR, trade for one, or use a premium pick on a WR.

socaltitan
If they move on from Ridley, it has to be because they're acquiring a very clear upgrade (Pierce, DJ Moore, Tate/Lemon/Tyson, Waddle, Garrett Wilson). If the plan is to cut Ridley and give Doubs or Wandale Robinson big $$$ that's not it. Ridley has a way better resume than both of those guys. He does but he will also be a 32y/o WR coming off a season where he only appeared in 7 games two of which he was done before the first quarter had ended. Ridley had two soft tissue injuries (one late in training camp just before the season started) and a broken leg last season there isn't a great track record of aging WR durability improving after sustaining a run of injuries. titanskick8851
socaltitan
Still better than those guys. They need a better solution if they're going to cut him.

I think they trade for Moore. The other options realistically are to overpay for Pierce or Jennings, or to trade down and take one in the first. socaltitan
DJ Moore has shown he can be a WR1 at times. I'd feel most comfortable with him based on track record. Pierce probably goes back to IND. But with him and Jennings you're projecting because they've never been a WR1. There might be more growth with Pierce, or he's just a really good deep threat who catches 40 balls. Jennings solid WR2. Not a WR1. Would not excite me.

If it’s Helm, Bellinger, and Manhertz then they aren’t helping Ward at all. They might as well play a 6th OL. Who would you like them to sign that is markedly better than what Helm could be in year 2? Really only Cole Kmet or Dawson Knox to me would represent a true upgrade to Helm if they are released. Maybe we could get Goedert, but I would think he will stick in Philly or go to a contender as he enters the end of his career. I like Cade Otton but he is very similar to Helm to me. For comparison Otton had 42 catches on 65 targets for 391 yds and 2 TDs. Helm had 44 catches on 55 targets for 345 yards and 2 TDs. Guys like Higbee, Waller, etc. are nearly over the hill. Ideally they draft and develop a future WR1. I ultimately expect both Pierce and Jennings to stay with IND and SF IsntLifeFunny

I'm not sure there is a realistic path to a true stud #1 WR this offseason for Borgonzi but what he simply has to do is improve the overall talent around Ward. And judging by the reporting from Rapoport and Fowler he is gearing up to spend serious money on the offensive side of the ball during FA. Kmet has been my guy. The Bears are going to get rid of him and we should grab him. Beyond him, Likely is a good target if they want a receiving TE. Njoku, too, but he is older. Pitts is another receiver-only TE, but I think he’s going to get way overpaid. Otton would be another good all around free agent target like Kmet but I’m assuming TB signs him before he hits the market. Charlie Kollar is an interesting guy but I think he and Helm would both be #2 type TEs. Both multidimensional guys, but neither really a standout. But it wouldn’t be a terrible look. Dawson Knox would probably be in this same category. Mo Alie-Cox is a dominant blocker, but he’s also 32 so getting up there. And I’d think Bellinger is more likely with his ties to Daboll. But that’s if they specifically want a largely blocking only TE. titanskick8851
