The path to the 1st overall pick

Recommended Posts

Current draft order....It's going to be a dog fight.

Tennessee (1-9) Titans certainty have the inside track, they have had they're bye week and they really only have two winnable games remaining.

New York Giants (2-9) Giants have a decent shot but also have two very winnable games left and a good upset shot on a third.

Cleveland (2-8) Cleveland has a really good shot, but they will have to lose to Tennessee at home and manage to lose to the Bengals.

New Orleans (2-8): Of all the contending teams, the Saints have the best chance to win multiple games. They play Atlanta twice, The Dolphins, The Jets, and The Titans. They should win at least two more games.

New York Jets (2-8): The Jets have a legit shot with only two games left they will be given a chance to win.

Las Vegas (2-7): The Raiders have three very winnable games still ahead of them.

Washington (3-8): The Commanders are a dark horse to come out of nowhere and finish last. But I only see one winnable game on their schedule

Los Angeles Rams (via Atlanta - 3-7) This is based on the Falcons of course. The Falcons have easily the most winnable games left. I think we can rule the Rams out safely.

Cincinnati (3-7): The Bengals finish their season with three winnable games in a row and should win at least one. With 3 wins already they are not getting pick #1.

Arizona (3-7):The Cardinals should win at least one more game maybe two eliminating them from pick #1

If I had to guess the draft order based on the teams today.

1. Titans
2. Jets
3. Browns
4. Giants
5. Saints
6. Commanders
7. Raiders
8. Bengals
9. Cardinals

If we end up with back to back #1 picks that puts us in some pretty terrible company.

I mean we're talking Browns and Jags territory...

The reality is that we are that team. Hopefully we can trade back and escape this narrative.

Because trading back worked out so well last time?  LOL

Last time we traded back it resulted in Derrik Henry right?

Henry, conklin, jonnu, davis. Then a bunch of meh guys, austin johnson, leshawn(sp?) Sims and can't remember the last guy.

That was literally the foundation that let tanny thrive except for aj who would come a year later. Sure davis was a let down for his draft position but he was a solid number 2, jonnu grew into a solid TE, Henry is henry, and Conklin was great with us even if he wasn't retained.

Yes, it resulted in another decade of not winning a championship.

If you cant see how that trade propelled us to a superbowl contender, which is just about all anyone can reasonably ask for, there is no helping you.

It made us ryan Tannehill away from a 1 seed and afccg in back to back years for christ sake lol.

What made this team a contender for a brief window of time was acquiring Tannehill.  For a couple of seasons Tannehill was the best QB this team had in 15 years since McNair and it wasn't even close.

The second he started playing at a high level, this team was a contender.  The second that play disappeared, so did the contending even though the same supporting cast you are fondling was still here.

It's all about the QB.  Clearly you don't realize that and there is no helping you.
