Ayomanor is the best WR on this team and it’s not even close

He's been a stud, no doubt.  The chemistry with Cam is great.

If we'd stop throwing to brick-hands and Callahan learned how to play-call, we might have something.

The one place I think callahan is getting to much crap is play calling. His situational play calling is absolutely atrocious, no doubt about that. But the general down to down stuff isnt that bad.

I know we are all tired of the screens for example, but if even a fraction of them worked we wouldnt have a problem with them. They make sense from a what is wrong with our offense stand point but they just dont work which is on them, just not a playcalling issue.

There are plenty of guys open, but between drops, the bad blocking and cam big game hunting more than he needs to we end up with wasted plays.

I am not trying to shift all the blame from callahan, im on board, this is a shit show. I just think the problems with the offense are more endemic than just he calls the wrong play all the time. The problems are at a fundamental level which is more concerning imo

At some point, the play-caller has to know who he can depend on and who he can't.  Pollard has been a Simmons level professional on this shit-show, and has continued to work his ass off.  You can depend on him, Ayomanor, and Helm to a lesser extent.  Other than Ward, those are the only players on offense that we can have confidence in, yet we continue to see screens to Chig and deep throws to brick-hands.

The game management and play-calling together is just too much, and there is reason to believe it may not be better even if you remove one of those things.  I'd prefer he call plays over manage the game, although that isn't the change that would happen.  It's more likely they give play-calling duties to someone else, and then leave him to manage the game.

I'd rather Ward call his own plays at this stage because that is how bad Callahan sitautional awareness is in playcalling.

Jesus Christ....you know it's bad if I'm agreeing with @Bongo59.

I was going to give you a thumbs up but then you admitted to agreeing with bongo. Better luck next time.

Mason was on the radio earlier saying that on at least one play Ridley half assed his route.  He said he came out of a break jogging which caused the pass to be a bit ahead of Ridley.  He was actually pretty pissed about it, lol.

So yeah, with that kinda performance, it makes sense that the young and hungry are climbing up the depth chart.  I’m hoping Elic is a steal and continues to improve.  We’ve really needed a more physical go up and get it WR, who is something he’s shown he’s pretty good at.
