Henry was never a legitimate MVP candidate in 2021 and it's absolutely true that his production dipped as well.  His YPC was down over a yard from 2020 and he was on pace to shatter the carry record before he broke down.

 

Foreman/Hilliard were hitting about 85% of his production in his place and actually had more explosive plays and a higher success rate.

I haven't seen anyone jump ship since Kyle to the 9ers...saying they play an enjoyable brand of football with my personal favorite player isn't being a bandwagon fan. It's saying we have the shittiest product in the NFL and have for years. Our games are almost never exciting and the offense has been dog shit going on 3 years.

This has nothing to do with Henry but now that you mention it he didn’t look the same after the concussion and it was really dumb by Callahan to only have 2 RB on the roster that day.

Pay attention to what he says though.  He basically trashes them and fawns over other teams/stars.  It’s way different for say people who say this is a POS franchise and still watch.

PSG#3.  You were still arguing at me that entire season defending Mariota.  I don't go back and remind people because we are family.  We are a small community that sticks with the Titans no matter what.  I was astonished that season by the total lack of understanding the game I saw from posters.  

 

I praised the hell out of Tannehill, I called his a bad ass because he stood in there and took a beating leading the Titans to the best record in the AFC.

 

After about the third of fourth game in 2022, I posted the ball wasn't coming out quick enough.  I posted it, got called a hater.  Ball still kept coming out a little late.  A lot of guys like you in particular can't understand what you see.  You have to go to PPF, PFF or POOP fantasy site then fly in calling me a bottom poster.

I still support Cally but he's doing some dumb shit man. RB is the most injury prone position on the field. TF are you doing? Chestnut looked nice in brief action though.

Hate was always a bad term for it.  It was a recognition of what Henry was and what he wasn't.  Henry wasn't the most important piece of the offense.  Henry wasn't the reason the passing game was good.  Hell we had people arguing he impacted the passing game when he wasn't on the field and that other teams were afraid to tackle Henry.   

 

It was not a coincidence of what happened in 2021 and 2022 when injuries impacted Henry and Tannehill.   Even in 2021, the offense was functional until the WR's were also out.

 

In Baltimore, you'd see the same thing.  Henry is a great complementary piece but if he were out, they'd still have a good running game and offense.  If they lost Lamar, they'd be fucked.

 

On a higher level discussion, I think it's really not a Henry thing but simply how today's game is played.  RB's, even the best ones, are relatively interchangeable.  Henry is the best pure RB in his generation without question and he's not a huge win/loss difference maker but more of a style points/excitement player.  Last night is a perfect demonstration of this - he hardly played up until the 27-10 lead.

 

This is dramatically different than in prior eras.

Yeah. I've tried to not be reactionary and recognize fully that he doesn't have much talent to work with but he's making mistakes that a young Vrabel didn't make. Not to stir up the Vrabel stuff and no, I don't want him back but just looking at the way the team operates there is a certain cohesion that's missing and it feels like little details are going un-addressed because the big issues are so glaring. I'm cautious when judging coaches because we know so little but something does appear to be amiss. I hope it's just growing pains.

And this is why even though we've disagreed on certain things regarding Henry, I've never put you in the hater category. You've been tougher than I have been on topics regarding him but it has always felt fair and with no vitriol. The same can't be said for others on here who actively rooted against him, laughed whenever he appeared to fail, and blamed him for failed drives/bad games. You aren't one of them but they exist and they know who they are.
