These are not real numbers, but say it was a three person lottery where: 12th gets 3000/6000 points in the lottery 11th gets 2000/6000 10th gets 1000/6000 If 12th tanked hard and the algorithm put it at a 33% penalty, they would have 2000/5000. Same for 11th. Basically, they went from a 50% chance at number one to a 40% chance. At the same time, team 11 goes from 33% to 40% and team 10 goes from a 16.6% to 20%. I think it makes it by far the most fair way of doing it possible. I will also post the code on GitHub and stream the lottery live so everyone knows everything is on the up and up.
