Titans sign Tyler Boyd to a 1yr up to $4.5 million deal

Recommended Posts

Not only would Boyd take away from Burks targets, it would also downplay the TE position, know the current regime didn't draft any of these guys, but at some point a bit of the emphasis has to be on developing cheaper draft picks already on the roster, Callahan is supposed to be a master of developing for the personnel on hand.

If and that is still a big IF right now they did end up signing Boyd would make that Titans WR group pretty unique in the NFL there wouldn't be many if any other teams that would have their top 3 WR all 30 and over by the time the 2024 season ended.

Teams tend to be looking to get younger, cheaper and faster at WR not older and more expensive.

Guys like Tyler Boyd/Zay Jones/OBJ/Allen Robinson are the type of players teams are shedding rather than paying in FA.

It’s someone on the team Cally trust to run his type of offense but yes it would be quite unique lol

Burks is going to be motivated this season. He's going to be trying to earn a second payday and his stock in low right now.

I am more concerned with him doing enough for me to pawn him off on some retard in fantasy than hoping he will do anything of long term value for us.

I pretty much agree. Signing Boyd seemed like a Madden move to me so I didn’t think they would consider it.

It should help evaluate Levis though. Can’t claim he has no options with such a veteran WR corps were it to happen.

Give Levis  all the proven weapons he can get.

I’m not writing off Burks or Philips entirely yet, but nothing is more important than developing a QB. Either that or evaluating him enough to say he’s not the guy.

Look at how the Bengals treated their TEs. They were a secondary target and generally replaceable.

If Chig or Whyle earn targets in the passing game then they will get involved. But the era of Titans TEs being big producers on offense is probably in the past.

I'd rather let Burks/Philips and even NWI battle for the 3rd spot

It's not just the 3rd spot, it's insurance for when Hopkins or Ridley most likely miss time. I'd presume we'll see a lot more 3 WR sets and it's all about providing Levis a stable foundation
