Titans/Jags AFC Championship 1999

Recommended Posts

I have the music city miracle game on DVD. I'll see what I can do...but I don't want my account suspended.

Sidenote: why the FUCK does Goodell/NFL have these videos taken down? It's free promotion!

YEP!

I have the NFL Game Of The Week versions of the 99 Colts/Titans playoff game and the Titans/Ravens 03 playoff game, which is 45 minutes long each, but don't have the full games. When I uploaded those though, it wasn't long before youtube killed my account. If you want to see those, I can open an account over on Veoh or something and upload them there. They give a really indepth look at the games, going on the sidelines, seeing what the coaches are saying, breaks down some of the plays, etc.

And YEP!

We haven't ate well in over a decade brethren. I miss feasting like this. :(

Me too. Me too. I sure hope Locker is the beginning of a new feast.

I was at the game. I still remember it clear as day. The Titans were down 14-10 at halftime. They drove down the field and scored a TD, then Wycheck fumbled at the 1 yard line on the next drive. Evans sacked Brunell for a Safety and it was all over when Mason scored on the free kick. It went from being a tight game at the start of the 3rd to a blowout by the end of the 3rd. Great game.

I was there as well. One of the things I remember is how loud it was. The jag fans around me had plastic coke bottles with spare change in them to use as noise makers.

But after Evans safety and Mason's return, it got real quiet.

Jacksonville really should have put that game away in the 1st half. From Brunell's INT to Alvis Whitted dropping that ball to the fumble (I think it was Reggie Barlow) at the end of the first half, it reminded me a bit of the Titans-Ravens in 2000 and 2008, where the home team had every opportunity in the 1st half, couldn't capitalize, and the underdog took advantage.

It's amazing that since that game Jacksonville hasn't been a factor in the AFC. I know they made the playoffs twice since then, but both times they had to go to New England where they really had no chance.

If someone were to do a turning point for a franchise series, you could probably find 4 ot 5 plays right in that game to be Jacksonville's turning point, but that game itself has definitely been the turning point to Jacksonville being where it is now.

Kind of like Titans-Ravens (being a franchise turning point) in 2008. I would guess that many Jaguars fans feel the same about the Titans as many Titans fans do about the Ravens.

The 1999 Titans exuded solidity. Defense, offense, and special teams constantly staying positive and making plays. There weren't really any holes on the team.

Here you go with this bullshit again. Jacksonville has sucked because they ran Coughlin out of town and have had a terrible FO, not because of a few plays in a game 12 years ago.

That Les Steckel offense was so bad. One of the announcers said Steckel told the offense, getting 4 yards is okay.Four yards three times is a first down. What a great offensive mentaility.

Also, who would have thought of the two coaches on the sidelines, Coughlin would be the first to win a Super Bowl. You never know.

Huh?

What I said was it was the turning point in their franchise, just like every team has a turning point.

Learn some reading comprehension before commenting on a post.

As far as Coughlin, after that game his teams had 2 7-9 seasons and a 6-10 season. WTF did you expect the Jaguars to do?

Again, the team has never been the same since that loss.

Not just one, but TWO with the same franchise in 5 years.

The saddest part of watching these old videos, is that our glory days are 13 years old... We need to hurry up and start winning in the new era. I want to actually go into the season with a real feeling that my team can win a championship.

I've always wondered if a healthy Yancey Thigpen (who was a lot bigger and stronger than Dyson) catches that last pass in the SB would have been able to break that tackle and get in to the EZ.

I always wondered how things would have played out if we had drafted Randy Moss instead of Kevin Dyson.

I justed wanted to say thanks, Luvyablue! I have had the Music City Miracle game and some others on DVR for years, but I have never even caught this game being re-played.

Oh, and Burhead stole my exact thought with his last post.
