It would be amazing. More capital this year and a first next year for a coach who has missed the playoffs 2 years in a row and hasn’t won a playoff game since 2019? Highway robbery! I just hope that if this does happen they get an offensive minded coach. I think that’s what Carthon wants coming from SF.

That’s what I’m leaning towards being the pay out if this actually happens. I don’t think they’d give a top 3 pick up if they can avoid it. It would be the equivalent of two 2nds and a third in this draft. Cant wait for your coaching staff spreadsheets!
scine09
The Patriots would not be that stupid. As much as I've liked Vrabel, the novelty has worn off and they are 5-18 with him in the past 23 games. They can lose with him or without him. He's sure as heck not doing anything to change the fortunes of the team right now. I'm not saying that it's all been bad this year with Vrabel as I'm sure that he's done some good things, keeping them competitive in certain spots. But I am also convinced that their record would've been better this year with a different coach. No one is ever solely responsible for losses but I put a big amount on him for the home Indy and Houston losses, for starters. They were just too conservative and it bit them. More aggressive play calling IMO wins both games. I also think the Carolina game was too close and should've been won by a wider margin. Again, too much conservative, not to lose play calling. The next week will be interesting, if nothing else.
Jamalisms
I imagine the compensation will disappoint people if it happens. There will be cheering from some corners if he's gone, regardless of compensation.

But her denials have to be squinted at. Either way, Schefter retiring it means it's real. What it turns into is unknown but they're going to assess things and that's all I really care about. No reflexively keeping him. Assess and figure it out. Schefter is a megaphone for the league, GMs, coaches and agents who want to push a certain narrative. I would not conclude that this means it’s coming from Vrabel, Ran or anyone else. The fact that he mentions “people around the leave” means this could be speculation from former staff like QC or even Ossenfort or someone like that. i still don’t expect a leadership change based on what we’ve heard so far so don’t get your hopes up fanboys

titanruss
What is he reporting? "there are people around the league who believe"? More like: "People keeps saying these rumors so I'm going to tweet them but no one has heard anything similar from the Titans, Vrabel, or anyone that knows either very well. If nothing else I bet Amy will put the pressure on him to boot some of these worthless yes men he's accumulated on his staff. Meathead is a lot more prideful than Mularkey was so I doubt he budges. I’ve been saying all season that he’s going to likely get the “Mularkey ultimatum” either get rid of these scrub coaches or you’re gone. Will he be loyal to a fault like Mularkey was? croatian22
I know where is the problem. Carthon is a racist, he wants a black head coach and probably doesn't like Vrabel because he is a Republican. Amy needs to fire Carthon
