When Daniel Jeremiah is suggesting some teams will/have taken Penix off their boards due to his previous stockpile of injuries I think some others in the draft media got a bit over their skies with the sky high draft projections.

Brugler and Tice both had him as a 3rd round guy and had plenty of NFL contacts that agreed with that sentiment.

I agree that some teams may have taken him off their boards, but there are always risers at the QB position and he was the obvious candidate. It only takes one desperate team

With the dearth of talent we saw at the QB position this year I don't think it's a stretch to say he would be in that range if not for the capitulation last night

I remember that season. Michigan was way better imo.

He's on mock draft 5.0 on Jan 9th. Looks like you found cbspsorts' Kyle. I love the random trade up to 1 for the Commanders when they don't even have a front office or staff.

I mean if Alt and Fashanu are gone then I would go Nabers

Exactly. Or Bowers. Or one of the edge rushers. Or trade back for more picks at that point. They have to get a LT but you don't spend a top 10 pick on a guy who isn't at a premium position and isn't a blue chip player.

I'm more worried about the Jets trading up for one of the LTs. They are in win now mode with Rodgers and the Titans have  limited ammo

yup. 99% of these mocks are complete jokes. Its basically just a bunch of keyboard warriors playing at who they would draft based on little knowledge of what teams actually need and want.

They don’t have a second and draft at 10.  And there is a clear drop off from the top 6 -7 players to 10.  They have no shot at the top 4 picks.  LAC isn’t rebuilding .  The NYG are a possibility but do you give up a shot at a WR/OT for a lesser player at 10?  They could also draft Bowers at 6.
