I'm all for trading him if possible.

I feel like there's so much unknown here that wishing for a trade seems more complicated and relies on many factors we don't know than simply wishing he gets fired.

But yeah, I'm fully onboard with fire or trade Vrabel if possible.

of course. its this "absolute" nonsense that needs to stop. We have no idea if there is a trade market for Vrabel so acting like its 100% AAS won't fire Vrabel in season is grounded in nothing.

If Vrabel knows he's on thin ice and a trade his possible, then he's incentivized to let the Pats know that and get fired anyway so he doesn't hamstring his new team by costing them draft picks. It's possible he did that when in NE earlier this year.

A trade just seems less likely.

Again, if possible I'm all on board for it!

I think Vrabel is closer to the axe than many here and in the media believe. I don't think AAS will fire him midseason, barring some embarrassing blowout losses, but I do think there is a decent chance he's gone at the end of the year.

A year ago at today’s press conference, Mike Vrabel would have defended Aukerman and insulted the media while saying we don’t make coaching changes in-season.

This firing is a big deal and shows that Vrabel is feeling the heat. He’s starting to run out of scapegoats.

So, do we think Vrabel did this on his own or with some prodding from up above?  Has Vrabel ever removed a coach mid season?  So if it came from above, it definitely says he's on shaky ground but also that he's willing to toe the line to stay on as coach...

There's zero incentive to fire Vrabel in season, especially since there's nobody on staff worthy of taking over even for a few weeks.  Especially if you have an inkling that he could be a traded asset.

Auckerman has been god awful from day one. He's been consistently complained about and many were pissed he was even hired because he's sucked ass everywhere he's been. I can't remember the last time we had anything in the return game, won an onside kick, or had incredible punt coverage.  Having good kickers and punters here got him a pass from local media and coaches for some reason.

When people in outside media and other teams say things like "titans are not a serious team"- it's because of guys like that on staff not getting upgraded. It's keeping Bowen over Schwartz.  It's not getting a legit OLine coach... among other things.

I'll say it again. If there is real interest in trading for Vrabel, they will obviously wait.

The devil is in the details. What is the difference between "getting fired" and being "relieved of duties" in the context of getting some value by trading Vrabel in the off-season. Are they the same?

Other than a kind of morbid satifaction, I don't much point in making a change mid-season unless we can still get something from value of him in the off-season. We need too much. It's very likely what Vrabel wants anyway.

What did Vrabel ever do before he became head coach?

More than Charles London, who's never coordinated a unit, managed a staff.  Vrabel did have coordinator/leadership experience.

London's never been more than a position coach unless you count this year's passing game coordinator who's in charge of the 27th ranked passing game and 30th ranked 3rd down offense.

Even if there isn't, I don't see it.  It would not be a great look for AAS optics wise to fire the GM and HC in-season in back to back years aside from the issue of not having a capable interim guy in house.
