I'd give decent odds that Vrabel is their "league source".

Pretty good chance he's done and he knows it. It's just about whether or not the Titans can hold onto him long enough to trade him.

The drive by "issues with his job performance" statement is almost incendiary. The author of this has to come back and provide more--he's accountable for putting this out there.

I saw this yesterday and have taken some time to stew on it. My thoughts:

1) Fire Vrabel or Trade Vrabel. I really don’t give a shit, don’t have him here in 2024.

2) Everytime Vrabel’s team struggles, he runs to the media. Rexrode and the Ohio State story last year, Russini’s puff piece, and now most likely this. He’s a bitch and he’s toxic at the first sign of not getting his way.

3) Shame on Bedard for throwing in that job performance comment about Ran. He better have a lot to back that up or it could get really ugly. Most likely, it’s not true and it’s a Vrabel guy taking a dig at a GM he didn’t want.

Lastly, I’ve said before that Vrabel likely wanted Cowden as GM and AAS went the other direction and hired an equal counterpart. And he can’t stand not having ultimate control.

No way you can say that with certainty right now given how much keeps coming out to the media.

The Patriots no doubt want Vrabel as the Belichick successor-- that's all that is certain.

No. When you see many journalists saying similar things, it's obviously being driven by something. There's the Patriots, Vrabel, the league or just people knowing.

But this report in particular is simply bad reporting in terms of form and content.

It's amazing to me how people eat this stuff up.  Still, you're right. If it was just one report or from one journalist, you could meet all of this stuff with stiff skepticism.  The fact that there are multiple reports from multiple journalists means there is likely something going on here.  The theory that Vrabel himself is driving some of this stuff makes as much sense as anything else I've heard.

There is no doubt about this.

And kudos to AAS for pushing for something different.

This continues to give me hope.

AAS knows Vrabel is a good coach of GOOD teams but not the guy to rebuild a modern team.

Carthon has the keys to the rebuild.

I don't think RC has done a good job so far.

He had minimal cap space to work with and multiple starters to sign. His draft picks have all proven to be good so far.

Vrabel is at fault for the Dillard signing almost 100% guaranteed.

It does seem like there was some kind of internal conflict about the Henry trade situation. We can only guess who was the driving force behind retaining him rather than doing the smart thing and trading him.

Exactly. I’m not sure what Ran was supposed to do with what he inherited, but for the most part his first Draft class looks quite good. I’m excited to see him work with some cap space, a full year of scouting here, and (hopefully) a new coach
