Hell yeah! John Calvin & friends never burned "heretics" at the stake. Protestants never burned "witches". All the bad stuff was the Catholics fault! That's the ticket!

There's simply no defense for what has taken place. This wasn't a military encounter; this was terrorism plain and simple. There's a huge difference. It's unjustifiable and has setback peace for decad

The 6 billion was Iranian money from prior oil sales and held in South Korea.   In addition, it wasn't turned over directly to Iran.  The money is to be used for humanitarian purposes and pa

Horrific stuff

The entire crisis is horrific. The part at the end about how this could inspire a whole new generation of similar ideologies is both true and terrifying. Violence begets more violence. Israel should have been much more surgical in their response, but Hamas can not be allowed to continue to exist as a political entity. Regardless, they are committed now, and there is no good way forward due to the political complexities of the players involved.

Tough to trust anything on Elon's increasingly troubled platform and I don't have the energy to vet it more but that's the deputy editor of huffpost (per the bio, at least).

Assuming it's true:

When an entity goes beyond a reasonable and appropriate response all the way to the point of eliminating the existence of another nation entirely, it's hard not to say they've fully transitioned into the aggressor and the primary barrier to peace.

It's not difficult to understand Israel's reluctance to allow Palestinians to continue to occupy parts of Israel, given their repeated insistence on the end of the state of Israel through violence and terrorism. I don't think genocide is the answer, but it's certainly understandable that you wouldn't want your worst enemies, who just attacked you in the most brutal way imaginable, to continue to be your neighbor.

I get it, but factually he DID want Hamas to be his neighbour, in fact he made it so

He didn't want to entertain the PLA to be his neighbour peacefully

It's not about protecting Israel, never has been. It's about eliminating Palestine

For Netanyahu, you mean? Yeah, the more stuff that comes out, the worse he looks.

I doubt we get any sort of lasting solution without Hamas and their ideologies being completely eliminated and Netanyahu and his having any sort of say in whatever happens next, wishful thinking we get rid of them both but it would be helpful

Absolutely, but unfortunately, I think this entire conflict has empowered the hardliners on both sides, and that is unlikely to change in the near future.  Nice thought though.

We'll see. I tend to think that if you're willing to vote for Trump then nothing else really matters and if you're not going to vote for Trump then nothing else really matters.

This is basically what I think too. The crazies that are going to vote for Trump are going to do so no matter what. The people that are interested in keeping the US a democratic nation will vote for Biden. Action in the Middle East won’t sway any of them either way. If this country elects Trump in after knowing what we know about him, and what he himself has said he will do if he is reelected, the country is too far gone and we deserve what we get.
