If he wants more he'll have to go to another team. Spears has earned a full on platoon.

Yeah, that's kinda how it feels. He said he wants to retire here. It's early, but there's zero sign of wear, and he looks better catching and in pass pro than ever before. I could see a zeke/pollard type split going on... of course totally dependent on if DH wants money, or he truly wants to play here.

Other than his long speed, he hasn't missed a step and catches better. 382 touches last year. Almost 2k overall. He probably ties Frank Gore in rushing TDs this weekend. It's going to be interesting to see if they start using Henry more in the passing game and on 3rd down. He's shown enough as a pass catcher the past two years that I think he would excel in the role and keep defenses honest on 3rd and less than 5. Speaking of, something that wasn't discussed much was the run on 3rd and 4 to Spears that got blown up right before the sack on 4th down. I really like the call because you're doing it knowing regardless you're going for it on 4th down. With that said I want Henry getting that carry because he's pretty much guaranteed 2 to 3 yards. Still, I loved the aggressive look to run on 3rd knowing you're going for it on 4th. Once we get past the 50 I want to see more of that but with Henry getting the nod. BudsOilers
IMO it's going to be hard to Taylor to make it. Really good back but only 1 1500 yard season in his prime and the team didn't win anything of note. I'm not sure we'll see another RB get in for a while after Adrian Peterson. Maybe DH if he can last long enough but for certain the devaluation of the position is going to hurt all of them. One thing I do believe is that Frank Gore should not get in. He just hung around a long time to accumulate volume yards.

You can't say that for many players in league history.

I try to tell people that all the time. They just don't like him. By they, it is just some loudmouths who post here. Titans fans love him.
IsntLifeFunny
Oman is mostly shtick when it comes to Henry. He isn't wrong about the ROI for most RBs. Henry is likely the last 2 down RB you'll ever see get a sizable contract.
BudsOilers
It's not that fans pointing out how meaningless a star RB is in terms of winning don't like the player. I personally love watching RB's play and DH has been enjoyable to watch in his prime, is a hard worker, and by all accounts a great teammate. The interesting thing is that he's a big play back more like a CJ than he ever was an Earl Campbell or Marshawn Lynch violent runner. Still, if the X play runs are a thing of the past, it's awfully hard on an offense to give him a ton of carries. I'd add I do think Henry has always been overly reliant on great blocking compared to HOF backs. He doesn't make something out of nothing.

LongTimeFan
While Spears appears to be a great compliment to Henry, and better than all the other RBs the Titans have drafted recently, he has only played in 2 games. Hopefully Spears continues with his play, but let's see where he is after week 12 or so.

I think he needs to get over 12 K career yards.

Meh, I think it stems from his belief that a 2 down back hinders the overall production of the offense. He's not exactly wrong when taking a league wide view, it's just that Henry has been an absolute monster and has now evolved his pass game prowess to make up for losing a step. BudsOilers
He really hasn't though. He always could catch a screen or a basic outlet route. Without tracking it, I'd say for every big screen play, there's 2 or 3 that go nowhere but that stuff is really all dependent on the OL and WR's blocking right to set it up. Hopefully Henry's total at year's end is high rather than the usual ridiculously high. As of now he has the 2nd most carries in the league and that's getting outsnapped by his replacement in one of the games. I don't think people need to worry about Henry still getting an excess of touches.
