You umm don't see how race could play into a rich white family taking advantage of a poor black kid and then stealing millions of dollars off his name and story while pushing him into their Alma Mater while saying they would adopt him but never doing so and actually putting him into a predatory conservatorship? I mean, yeah, race definitely plays a part in the story.

If Michael Oher was any other color besides black would it be a race issue? No, it has nothing to do with race. Like I said or somebody else did with the Lewan comment, you see black and white so it’s racist. If he was Mexican or Puerto Rican we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.

Come on oldie. It doesn't matter what their reasoning was. It's called privledge and access.

The reasoning does matter if you're alleging it was racially motivated - i.e. if he was homeless Lewan instead of Oher, would they have seized the opportunity to manipulate the situation?   If Oher or "homeless Lewan" was just a HS JAG athlete, would they have gone to these lengths to glom on to a meal ticket?

Certainly unlikelier than Oher.

The action is the problem regardless of race but racial disparities and stereotypes in the US certainly play into the power dynamics, access, privilege and vulnerability at play in this situation.

Something fishy here…

Yeah, that is the real curious part.  He only figured this out now.  He should have been looking closely at the situation after the movie hit.  Or just at any point after that.

Now maybe Oher is upset that his dipshit ‘family’ didn’t negotiate for them to make any money off the movie. That a bit different than the accusations.

How’s that? That I didn’t put your name in there instead of Mexican or Puerto Rican? Point is this suituation with Oher had nothing to do with racism.

I didn't say it was racially motivated. I said it was about privledge and access, which is obvious. The fact it was a young black male being taken advantage of by a wealthy white family means race belongs in the conversation. It isn't about their motivation, which to say the least is unclear seeing as they stole money from him if the allegations are true.
