They are going to have to get some veteran depth(Hope and Scott?)

This team is in desperate need for a safety to back-up Griffin and Babs. I don't really know who's out there but I wonder if Chris Hope would be a consideration?

Also a scenario for Scott's returned has played out imo.

The Titans need a starting RG right now, free agency is dried up and nothing is left in the draft you would assume would be starting material.

Scott is still a good pass blocker and Harris has never started at RG. I'm not saying it will happen but it's a possibility. In this new run and shoot type scheme I wonder if he fits better than Harris. They could bring him back cheap and if he loses out cut him.

They are going to have to sign some vets on the scrap heap somewhere because there are still a lot of holes.

Perhaps they are planning/hoping on picking up vets to be cut.

And at this point, yes, it would seem they have to have Harris at RG penciled in. He in all likelihood has seen some practive time there over the last few years, enough so that Munch and Co. believe he can slide over without too much issue. I'm in the "wait and see" crowd.

Are you suggesting to put Harris on the bench?

No, but the roster limit is 90 now and Scott could be brought in to challenge for the starting spot and the loser could be cut.

Munchak mentioned bringing Scott back and they didn't draft anyone(6th round still to come)

I don't think people would mind if the team were to bring Hope back. He played well in some sub packages last year. I think most peoples problems with Hope were associated to his pay.

For a reasonable price, I would not mind Chris Hopes return(ditto with Scott). Though I was kind of hoping they drafted a safety to try and groom.

6 interior linemen to choose from besides Hutchinson. .. Harris, Amano, Velasco, Kropog, Durand, and Matthews .. If we draft an ok in 6 it will be strictly developmental player.. All very interesting. .. Does anybody remember what the run and shoot guard and center were like .. Were they power or finesse type blockers??

Well Munchak was the LG and Doug Dawson was the RG. Dawson was tiny and a finesse player, Munchak fit in any scheme

Hope still played very well in the box. In short yardage situations, he's a great backup option if he is affordable. We just can't have him playing against 3WR+ sets because he can't cover anymore. We have to bring in a cover S at some point.

I actually thought Hope played okay last year. Not that he was great by any stretch....but it wasn't a complete disaster like the 2010 season.

I'd welcome him back at the right price.

Same goes for Scott. Not a guy you want starting in a run-oriented offense....but with the Titans obviously going all-in with the passing game, they could do a lot worse than Scott.

However, once the draft is over, I imagine a number of teams will be looking to sign veteran depth at positions that weren't addressed on draft day....and it's not like Hope and Scott are utterly washed up and worthless. Don't be too surprised if a few teams come sniffing around them in the next few weeks.

Scott isn't starting here again. He wasn't even a very good pass protector last year either, and he was embarrassing against the run. He's been rated well by a hack website because Hasselbeck got rid of the ball in record time. When the QBs held onto the ball and let plays develop, Scott was abused. He's worse than Amano.
