I don't go on trends or stats. Purely a gut feeling. But there are a lot of proud players on this Titans team that do NOT want to lose the division to Jacksonville. If we do win it will be a testament to the coaching ability of Mike Vrabel. Titans win a hard fought game.

Having Autry back is huge…and hopefully that extra week of rest will help Simmons  look a bit more like the dominating presence he was before the ankle injury,

I think we can all agree there’s little chance of the offense putting up 20+ points.   It’s a matter of the defense keeping the score down and getting turnovers to give the offense short fields to work with….and then hoping the offense doesn’t do something to screw it up.

I think it works to the Titans’ advantage that the Jags have only one game of film on Dobbs…so they have very little info to gameplan for his tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses.

We’ll see what happens.

The Jags traded for Dobbs in 2019 from the Steelers, after Foles' injury in Week 1. He spent one year with the team, behind Minshew, released in 2020...

It’s a valid point.

But keep in mind,  the Jags have turned over their entire coaching staff twice since Dobbs was there….and probably most of the roster as well.   So any familiarity they had with Dobbs from 2-3 years ago is probably long gone .

Exactly.

Big time homerism (not that there’s anything wrong with that) to think that a Titans team on a 6-game losing streak and without it’s starting QB is going to win on the road against a team on a 4-game winning streak, who also beat the Titans easily 4 weeks ago.

Not really. It's not like we're playing the Bills or KC here. It's the Jags, a team we have absolutely dominated throughout the history of their franchise.

It feels like a fan thing to consider franchise history as relevant before a game like this. What’s more relevant - 1) the 1999 thrashing of the Jags in the playoffs, Mariota’s stiff arm of Barry Chirch, and Henry’s 99 yard run, or 2) Lawrence and that offense gashing our defense 4 weeks ago?

There’s a reason the Jags are favored by 6.5. They’re a much better team right now.

Didn’t help us in game 1 against them though

My first child is due between week 18 and the wild card round. Honestly, I’m not sure I want her first Titans game to include Josh Dobbs at QB in the playoffs. Too emotionally complex for such a young fan.

That actually sounds like a perfect start to prepare her to be a Titans fan.
