IrishTitansFan
You just know the Titans are going to go win a playoff game or two now when you least expect them 2020 and 2021 we all expected playoff wins, would be the most Titans thing of all time for the 2022 team to win more than both

Vrabel gets a chance to show what he can do with a better roster no matter what happens this season. We could lose out and Vrabel would still be the coach. It would however affect the GM search and the arrangement going forward.

Honestly we've done better in the playoffs as heavy underdogs than favorites, in 2017 and 2019. It’s all about momentum come playoff time and ours is trending down right now. A lot of what is going to happen will be based on the results of the Houston and Jacksonville games. If you want to see the team make the playoffs, then those are the two games they need to win. Regardless of an injured roster or not, it Vrabel is the coach we all know him to be, then they’ll win those two games, which will win the division. On the flipside, those two games matter a lot if we lose as well from the perspective of what AAS might view. Going 9-8 or better and making the playoffs and having another division title is okay. If they don’t make the playoffs after starting 7-3 and then really only needing two wins over the final 7 games of the season to make the playoffs, that will still be a HUGE indictment on Vrabel and the staff. The fact Vrabel and Co. couldn’t get the team up for what essentially was a division clinching game is super concerning. All to mean, if Vrabel doesn’t finish strong, the GM that AAS brings in may not quite be as tied to Vrabel. A lot is still at stake for Vrabel to finish the season somewhat strong. I echoed this a second ago to FGeek without seeing this post. We could lose out and he'll be the coach no matter what next season, but the balance of power in the equation changes quite a bit if the team falls apart the last 7 weeks. The more I think about it, the more I feel Amy should have waited until the end of the season to fire JRob. I’m failing to see what, if anything, was gained by doing it now. I don’t believe it will expand the list of possible candidates. That’s just an overriding feeling I have. It’s really become a big distraction and has made Vrabel’s job harder. On the other hand it allows the team to concentrate on the offseason with the knowledge they'll need a GM to run the draft. Instead of just letting him walk around like a shadow hearing whispers she just pulled the plug. I can appreciate that much, but it's certainly cast a cloud on the team regardless of if you agree with the decision or not.

It honestly looks more and more like the timing of this was more about her fragile little ego and getting her feelings hurt by the mean eagles fans. Technically, the Jax game may not matter and TN could clinch the division as soon as the HOU game, with a win and Jax losses v. DAL and @NYJ. Comical that they could possibly clinch the division with 2 weeks left and end up 8-9. I would say they are toast if they have to win Week 18 @Jax, and then a lot of things will be at play for the direction of this team.

They are still winning the division unless something crazy happens. there's a pretty reasonable chance we are playing the jags for the division last week of the season. a win this week with a jags loss to the cowboys would allow us to lock up the division next week vs the Texans...I think... giving us two weeks to get healthy as possible I think that would help tremendously going into the playoffs. I'm not counting on a Superbowl but would like to get a playoff win at home.

Vrabel is completely safe. At this point, he can point to the personnel deficiencies as to why the team is not a legit contender. There's no doubt part of her thought process was that having Vrabel minimizes the risk of whacking Robinson, who she clearly lost faith in for a variety of reasons (some obvious and some we have to speculate on). Yeah, it doesn’t make sense to fire the GM because he screwed up the roster and then blame the coach for not winning games with that same screwed up roster.
