Daniel Jeremiah names the Titans as a sneaky team to watch for a first round QB

Tannehill was the least of the problems offensively last year. The skill people were terrible, the pass protection was terrible, Henry was ridden into the ground and couldn't hold up and the offensive design was predictable and easily defended, especially in the playoff game. Anyone thinking a rookie QB does better under those conditions and is the answer to turning the offense around is clueless, which many of you have proven to be over the years.

I have little doubt they'll self scout and they have already began improving the skill people. The offense will be better and Tannehill will play very well.

QB was not the problem last year, everything around him was. Tannehill is the main reason the Titans have had and will have a good offense going forward.

QB position aside do you see one off season fixing all these issues you outlined?

We've already brought in:

- Tim Kelly to help the passing game

- Traded for Robert Woods to replace Hamstring Jones (whose coming off an ACL injury)

- Signed Austin Hooper to improve the Tight End room

Our needs still:

- LG and RT (Since Radunz is still unproven)

- Wide Receiver

- Possibly a rookie Tight End addition with some receiving upside

- Running back depth behind Henry

Theirs still a possibility for some free agent additions post draft that could fill some of these needs. So is this enough to turn the offense around and allow us to to compete with KC, Bills, Broncos w/ Wilson etc. come play off time?

The people hoping Tannehill returns to 2019 form are using their hearts not heads. His career numbers are in line with what he did last year meaning he's likely returned to the mean.

He's a QB somewhere between 10-15 of QB rankings in the league

The Titans can easily have a top offense, they had a top 5 redzone offense last year with all the injuries and pass pro issues

That didn't answer my question. Do you think we've made the right moves to fix the issues you've mentioned? What other moves do we need to make?

Don't get on the retard bus

I don't hope Tannehill returns to form, he's fine. I hope the OL, skill people and offensive design return to form

Tannehill’s performance isn’t really the issue. It’s roster construction and cap space going forward. If they’re able to build a contender around Tannehill, then I’m all for that.

I think skill people wise the offense is fine as far as starters go. They could use more depth and a potential upgrade as the #3 WR.

The biggest issue that will determine if they've done enough is the pass protection. Can they draft a guy to play LG or RT, can  Randuz improve enough in year two be play RT well? Can Lewan stay healthy and consistently play at a high level?

They had a contender last year and look to have one this upcoming season, what's the problem?

People point to the fact teams with a QB under a rookie deal makes it easy to contend. The Seahawks and KC didn't win the SB because those two guys were on rookie deals, they won the SB because those two guys led very efficient passing games.

Mariota played under a rookie deal, so what, the team wasn't a contender because he sucked.

The cheap contract is a small bonus. How well they play is what matters

This has been my issues with drafting guys like Tyler Smith and a few other lineman mentioned.

Not sure how people expect the pass protection to get better if we don't bring players in that can actually pass block.

Along with that we need to bring in guys that can separate and get open quicker, which has been part of the issue.

Well if they can run better on 1st down and adjust the scheme slightly they can get better pass pro with the mauling type OL. The key to any offense is playing in manageable down and distance and playing with a lead. If they are going to build the team this way they better have a damn good running game, last year they didn't. And the running game in the postseason was also a disaster

Unfortunately there are only dozen people or so on here that seem to grasp this.  I have to laugh as more of the film Twitter guys come out agreeing with what we were saying all year.

how bad with this site be without the old Oiler fans bringing all the knowledge around here?

While I appreciate your knowledge on football, your constant crying about the past being in the past and thumping your chest like you are somehow above everyone else gets old.

Someone else said it best. You’re a troll who knows football.

LOL, you expected him to put up good numbers with a WR core that had a bunch of jobbers starting whenever Jones and Brown were out?  Plus the pass protection was awful.  And there was no receiving TE on the roster.  Get a clue.

He has to step it up in the playoffs. He’s literally had one good half over five games. Regardless of anything else being true about the offense he was the main reason we lost to the Bengals.
