I don’t think people really understand the designated June one cut rule. The player becomes free but the team that’s cutting him doesn’t get the money saved until June 2..  It really doesn’t benefit the Titans to do this. They could simply wait and see how the draft in free agency unfolds and deal with it come June.

It does if they utilize that to sign the draft class and spend other available money earlier

It does benefit them when it comes to operating room for the season and signing the draft class this summer. And if they’re going to do it - they should do the classy thing for Julio and do it sooner rather than later. Unless he is thinking about retiring depending on what is going on with the injury.

There’s been no indication that Julio Jones is looking at retiring nor did the Titans or out on him either. All Robinson has said is that they need to address the position, which is clearly obvious because at best Jones is there for another year and while they’re probably intending to resign AJ Brown you never know how the contracts can go.

Interested to see where the next couple of days take us would assume if JRob is going to release veterans like Saffold and Jenkins he is going to do it in the next couple of days so they have the best chance to latch on somewhere before the FA money starts drying up.

I'm also interested in the other cuts around the league.  With limited cap space on hand, we are going to sign at least one cheaper cap casualty vet.

I can see Arizona targeting him and having him play the 3rd safety there at worst and also a starter in their nickel package. He very well could start for someone needing secondary help like Arizona, Philly, Indy, Jacksonville, and my dark horse team for him to sign with… the fucking Ravens. I can see them loving him and pairing w Elliot as the starters and giving them depth as the NB and dime back in the event they have a litany of injuries back there again.

Keep an eye on Russell Gage at WR. Would be a major upgrade. Shifty and not afraid to make tough catches over the middle.

Gage is a good one. I would keep tabs on Cedric Wilson and also Christian Kirk.

Kirk would be a fantastic addition as the slot wr

Would be a solid #2 here, would think Falcons will make a huge push to keep him as he's their only WR worth anything.

I could go ether way on Julio. But whether they keep him or not they have to address the WR position as if he is not going to be here and he's treated more like a luxury

Curious to see how much a couple of important role players in Dane Cruikshank and Ola Adeniyi get in free agency.

The Titans need to retain Adeniyi. Different story than Cruikshank - who actually could be viewed as a borderline starter. Adeniyi is a career backup and core STer.
