Ah yes, my grand E-Cred agenda. It's a political ploy to play "both sides" so that I always seem right - that's what is important to me. Lol.

What is your problem, btw? How did I manage to turn you into such a fierce antagonist haha.

I'm just shooting shit about football on the internet - I'm happy to admit the many times that I am wrong about things. I'm rooting for the Titans to succeed and I like to try and get an idea of which way they are leaning on things for fun in the offseason.

Why is it so important to say *exactly* what I "want," as you say? Who cares about what I want, I have no say in the matter. Tons of posters like to always say what they "want", I don't think having another layman's opinion about what I "want" is going to add any value for anyone.

@Jonboy initiated the issue and I just gave my opinion based on your two previous off season plans.   You don't draw a sharp line between what you want and what you think the team will do, as you explicitly state: some mix of what I think will happen and what should happen

Yeah, well that's exactly correct. I don't think that what I want is particularly relevant. I usually just look at options based on who I think they would work well with and who would fit the Titans style when it comes to personnel fits.

My interest in the NFL offseason is more about playing with numbers and trying to gauge where management is heading based on their styles and behaviors. Certainly not trying to "play both sides" of anything or push any agendas.

In the context of this with Ridder, it's vague in terms of what @tgo thinks of the player as opposed to saying "this is how I think the Titans view the player".  He's pretty adamant that Ridder's flaws are minimal or non-existent despite credible draft scouts saying otherwise.

Personally, I don't relish the team picking a guy in round one with accuracy issues and it's not like he's Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson with special skill sets to overcome that.  Rounds 3 onward is where you draft guys like that.

I mean, maybe I'm wrong. Some of the scouting reports are contradictory from what I've read - but I would obviously defer what NFL people are saying such as the quote that @AussieTitanFan08 mentioned.

What keys me into Ridder is the Vrabel/Fickel relationship, the pro style offense, the multiple meetings so far and the Vrabel/Robinson comments on mobile quarterbacks and on a Tannehill successor.

It could end up being that Ridder does get drafted later, I'm not sure on that. But there are legitimate analysts that think he's the best QB of the bunch and many people think he'll go round 1. And yeah, I'm sure he has accuracy issues - but so does practically all of these QBs in this class. If he didn't have flaws, he'd be going like top 10 obviously.

I don't think it would hurt for the team to draft a backup QB and let them sit and develop for a year or two, given their stated views on first round players not having to contribute in year 1 due to where the Titans are consistently picking in the first round. As to whether any of these guys are worth it and fits for this team? I'm not sure, but the Titans actions over the coming months will tell us what they think. Ridder certainly checks the boxes on mobility, size, experience, leadership, intelligence, etc. for the position. The question mark is apparently accuracy. I don't love inaccurate QBs either - but some (like Allen for example) have been able to overcome such criticisms over time with development.

There's nobody credible that I've seen that has Ridder as the top QB.  The NFLN guys have him 4th or 5th in the class.  Where that's super damning to me as he's the only one besides Strong who has the prototypical size plus he's got the leadership, hard working traits.  I know people jizzed because he ran a 4.49 but it's meaningless if he's not accurate.

As for conceptually sitting, one year for a 1st rounder is reasonable.  Beyond that, it's a questionable pick.  If you draft a guy in round 1, he needs to be starting in year 2 to get the best value of going young at QB - the rookie contract.

Quessenberry is fine as a swing tackle but I think you can find other guys on the market just as cheap who are better.  He's a decent run blocking but his pass blocking is so horrific he's a liability whenever he's on the field.  Personally I would like to see them bring in another super cheap guy (Dennis Kelly!) or just draft someone but I'm fine with Quess not coming back.
