That was self evident. The question was is he elite? The answer from you and others was that he was, not just that he was playing well in that situation. Huh? He was elite during that span based on performance and all observable metrics. Does that mean he's a HOF QB or should be taken over guys like Watson or other younger guys? Of course not. I really don't get where your disconnect is on this. Saying 2019 and 2020 were elite years doesn't mean he's viewed as an elite QB from a career standpoint. He needs an OL and Weapons. You are basically calling him a game manager by saying he needs a high level RB. Thats the narrative that deserves to be critiqued. Hmmmmmmm. I think even with a high level pass blocking OL and good receiving weapons like he has had here and in Miami that he would struggle in a traditional drop back passing game without a really high level defense. Just my opinion though.

Here at TR, we have a former high school varsity player, armed with bad stats from the internet to remind us that Tannehill is the MVP of the team ... just so long as the team carries him. Lucky us. The majority also think playaction success is predicated on rushing success. How is that working out for you?

It's so common sense I don't know why you shared." Me, who always said Tannehill is good, not great: "This is pretty harsh at times, but ... well, I guess. Yeah." ... it's almost like people are running away from their extreme takes on how great the guy was. So much so that they can't even be bothered to note the harshness of the quote. Wrong. People argued Tannehill was the most important player on the team. It very clearly is the case. They've won games without the running game being effective (w/ and w/o Henry). They've yet to win a game where Tannehill has either played or produced poorly - note the distinction because some of the production issues are not on the QB. And honestly, anyone arguing otherwise doesn't understand the NFL.

I mean, technically no one is - I've yet to see a coherent argument against it. Just dumb ass laughing reactions and pot shots with slightly related but actually irrelevant opinion pieces to support an agenda that they're too stupid to realize is not actually related to the point. It's okay to have a wrong opinion but the doubling down is what amazes me.

I picked them to draft Elijah Moore in the first round. I also supported adding Julio, just didn't think they would pull the trigger. They also added a starting number 2 WR from a prolific similarly styled passing offense (Reynolds) in FA, which I supported. I also repeatedly said they should have done more at TE all offseason at every step of the way. Also I thought they'd go receiver in one of the first three rounds, although Robinson opted for a different direction knowing he would pursue Julio. It all really boils down to having a juggernaut run game to rely on though, imo and a good defense. When you don't have an elite QB. It's crazy to me that you think I was against adding offensive weapons in the offseason. The priority was just to fix the god awful defense.

I'm not sure being "elite" is even the point, but he performed at an elite level for a sustained period while being the most important player on the team during that period. Those are just facts. If you want to arrive at a pre-determined conclusion then you'll probably find the ammo for that one way or another. The NFL moves fast, Tannehill may never throw for multiple TDs in a game again, who knows what the future holds.
