The fact people still equivocate Fox to other outlets shows the lengths they'll go to justify their beliefs. They have been irrevocably proven to have outright lied about a national election for President of the United States for the sake of their bottom line. The audience simply doesn't care because the echo chamber has become to a large degree impenetrable. As to that interview and your point, they won't see it, and if they do will offhand discount it. Like you said, there is no drawback for them.
