There was a great article on the Atlantic going back and forth about how all of this plays out for the GOP and our culture as Americans. I tend to side with the idea that it's malignant for the right at this point and it's affecting the left as well. Everyone is out to prove the other side wrong in some gotcha stage instead of having any type of real discussion. Some people are hopeful the GOP moves on from Trump and can turn the page. I personally don't care one way or another because even if they do move on his stamp is embedded in the lexicon and overall mindset of seeing one another as an enemy.
