Jonboy
This isn’t a measure of how much maximum space can be created by cuts, restructures or trades just a look at what teams absolutely can’t get rid of next season under any circumstance. ... The Titans were a bit of a surprise for me. They have done a really good job at managing their cap in the last few years but I thought they had enough bigger deals to have more sunk costs but I guess not. The Jaguars on the other hand were not surprising as they have ripped apart their entire roster last year. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-sunk-costs-in-2021/
Starkiller
They have a bunch of guys with big base salaries and not too much dead cap space so that gives them plenty of flexibility. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tennessee-titans/cap/2021/
tgo
If the cap is near 190M and we can restructure Lewan and cut Butler/Humphries/Vaccaro, they may actually be able to retain Davis.
headhunter
Humphries and Vaccaro are good as gone. Saffold maybe too I dunno his cap hold

Why would we restructure Lewan? His value is insane, no way I would approach him about making any changes to that contract

If his body isn't completely falling apart I would bring Saffold back next year, the way he is playing this season he is still a top 5 LG in the NFL. I'd venture to say top 3.
AvgJoe
Titans need to do everything possible to keep Davis and Jonnu while trying to retain Butler and Saffold. I’m not a genius on the cap, but surely something can be figured out.

The notion of keeping all 3 is fantasy.

Which is exactly what any team should do when they are a contender.

Starkiller
For what it’s worth, if they did a simple renegotiation of each of the top 6 contracts on the team they could save roughly $41M in cap space in 2021. Cutting Humphries and Vaccaro would save $10M more.
