Titans Actually Have the 4th Most Flexible Cap for 2021

This isn’t a measure of how much maximum space can be created by cuts, restructures or trades just a look at what teams absolutely can’t get rid of next season under any circumstance.

...

The Titans were a bit of a surprise for me. They have done a really good job at managing their cap in the last few years but I thought they had enough bigger deals to have more sunk costs but I guess not. The Jaguars on the other hand were not surprising as they have ripped apart their entire roster last year.

If the cap is near 190M and we can restructure Lewan and cut Butler/Humphries/Vaccaro, they may actually be able to retain Davis.

Why would we restructure Lewan? His value is insane, no way I would approach him about making any changes to that contract

I think they may be better off cutting Saffold next year as that yields better cap savings.

If his body isn't completely falling apart I would bring Saffold back next year, the way he is playing this season he is still a top 5 LG in the NFL.

I'd venture to say top 3.

Titans need to do everything possible to keep Davis and Jonnu while trying to retain Butler and Saffold. I’m not a genius on the cap, but surely something can be figured out.

It's not going to be possible to keep both Davis and Jonnu and also Butler.

At maximum, it will be 2 of the 3.

The notion of keeping all 3 is fantasy.

Of course they can keep all 3. They just have to be willing to push some of the cap pain to future seasons. Which is exactly what any team should do when they are a contender.

After seeing what the Chiefs did this past offseason, I wouldn’t rule anything out
