I think it's possible, maybe even probable, that both TB and NE struggle this season. The bad division will save them some, but this is the first time in a very long time NE could be potentially bad. Even the D is a question mark now for me. Their 2nd half performance was noticeably worse than the 1st half when they weren't beating up on terrible offenses. Hightower opted out. They lost Van Noy. They're old in the secondary with 3 starters who are 33 years old. BB has fielded older defenses and been able to pull the rabbit out of the hat before, but that was also with a prime Brady and an elite offense behind him. smokeater Posted August 19, 2020 Report Share Posted August 19, 2020 Unfortunately, for this posed question, I don't think we will get an accurate answer on Brady because we would have had to see it happen in his prime, which for obvious reasons, wasn't going to happen. He is past being on the downhill side of his career, so if he takes a dump in Tampa it can be contributed to that and not necessarily that he needs BB to succeed. OTOH, if BB takes that rag tag crew he has in NE on a playoff run, it will certainly reinforce his hold on the reins of the Goat HC. If Brady struggles, he already has a built-in excuse because of his age. He'll still be the GOAT, but I do think Brady leaving NE does hurt his legacy a little bit. I thought of all people Brady would've been smart enough to just go out as a Patriot. If BB struggles, it wouldn't be a huge shock based on the factors. I don't think it would affect his legacy. If NE starts to struggle for years maybe it could over time. If Brady was going to leave, I wish he would've done it after the 16' season when BB wanted to move forward with Garoppolo. I am all in for a freindly bet on something. And if if I win or lose because I never bet over 10 bucks. But I would say I would take the under on both even I only won a buck for each.
