Keep up with these thoughts, all you Mariota haters.  He might have to come in one game and I hope all those ill thoughts come crashing down on you guys.   Karma's a bitch.

What did you mean by this? Did you mean that you hope he comes in and plays so well that people regret their ill thoughts or that he comes in and plays badly (which would ruin the season) to pay back peoples' ill thoughts?

Your overall point rings true, and I think no matter what we need to win 2 out of 3.

It’s crazy there’s actually a scenario where we miss the playoffs at 10-6.

There's also a scenario where they can get in just winning 1 more game (One of the Houston games would require less help than if it was New Orleans).

Through 13 games, the Titans have scored 42 total touchdowns.... the fourth-highest total in the league.  Only the Ravens (52 TDs), Niners (47), and Buccaneers (44) have scored more touchdowns than Tennessee.    (Chiefs are #5 with 41 TDs).

Here are the Titans' TDs and how they rate against the rest of the league.

  • 22 Passing TDs  (#13)
  • 16 Rushing TDs (#4)
  • 4 Defensive TDs (#4)

Titans are currently ranked #10 in overall scoring;  the lack of functional FG kicker is the only thing keeping them from a top-5 ranking.

When was the last time this team had a top 10 scoring offense? 2008?

Pitt is gonna be a problem. Ravens could be resting week 17.

If the Titans win this week, Pittsburgh loses to Buffalo and the Jets and the Colts lose to either New Orleans or Carolina the Titans almost definitely clinch regardless of the last two weeks.  It would take unheard of results such as the Bengals winning out, the Cardinals winning at Seattle AND the Dolphins winning at NE for that not to happen.

Don't discount the Jets.  They'll have 10 days to prepare as they play this Thursday and you know that Leveon Bell is going to be fired up.

Tampa is also playing well.  If the Titans win this week and beat the Saints (coming off a MNF game) and the Bucs beat the Texans then the Titans could clinch that way too.

Making the playoffs is a bonus. This season has been a success.

I kinda hope everybody gets this.^^  We were 2-4 when RT became the starter.  The only ones talking about the Titans even having a chance to make to playoffs was us.  The fact that the Titans have become a big story and now have a top 10 QB is outstanding success.

It's utterly frightening how low the bar is.  This is a playoff caliber team, as evidenced by the RT era play and excellent defense prior in the Pineapple Tebow time.  Between the refusal to play the far better QB and cluster fucking the kicking spot, this team very well could be sitting home in January.  If they had been totally on top of things, we should be talking about the #1 seed and home field advantage right now.

If this team doesn't make the playoffs, it's a wasted opportunity that was completely self inflicted because this team as it's playing right now can beat anyone.

It could be construed either way.  So many here have extreme hate for MM, by their comments.  With those people in mind, Marcus could go in and "their" unwavering opinion of him would produce a bad product.

The other spectrum, Marcus could go in and help the Titans win and play his best.  But this scenario, wouldn't change anyone's opinion of him so no one will regret their ill thoughts.

But life will show you that people should choose their words are either helpful or hurtful.  Not only to the other person but to you as well.  This is something I still also need to master but fail many times.

Regardless of this year's outcome, what will be the expectation for next year?  You don't think there will be pressure to make the playoffs and do something in them in 2020?

I think there's far more hate for the Mariota fan boys/excuse makers than there are for Pineapple Tebow himself.  It's not his fault he was over drafted and ill equipped to play QB at an NFL elite level.  It's not his fault that the team went through coaches and added players to try to fix the unfixable.  It's not his fault that society is not ready for his lifestyle choices.

He's a nice, polite, and a neat boy.  Someday, he and Hronris will enjoy watching the sunset on their lanai together in peace.

The Steelers are driving me crazy feasting on an easy schedule and stringing together all these wins because of a dude named Duck.

Windows to win are rare. It will be a damn shame if we don't make the playoffs -- we are on fire and peaking at the right time. We have players to pay this offseason and everyone will also get an offseason to adapt to this offense.

I still feel very good about the foreseeable future, but the time to win is right now. The AFC is weakened, the Patriots aren't dominant, no Luck or Roethlisberger to contend against, we are capable of beating KC, and the most dangerous team right now has a RB playing QB: we actually match up better against the Ravens than most, and who knows what will happen to them come playoff time?
