So you honestly think they handled the kicking situation properly?  The used a punter in preseason as Succop was on the PUP list.  They certainly could have been more aggressive in having a contingency plan.  You yourself bashed the Santos signing at the time.  Hypocrite

Poor Vrabel ended up with a no-win choice versus Buffalo.  Let the crappy kicker attempt another FG or have the QB you are forced to play convert a 4th down.

There was something really fishy going on there; don't know if it was the medical staff misdiagnosing Succop's recovery or him misleading them or a combination of both; I just don't believe that JRob is so competent at all his other duties but completely miscalled that one by not having another kicker in camp.

Don't know but at the time it seemed like it just wasn't healing fast enough.  Regardless, it's beyond odd that they didn't entertain a viable kicker option while he was on the PUP as opposed to relying on the punter to do it.  There wasn't a downside and maybe you end up with a good alternative.

 

It definitely backfired as Santos was far from automatic.

Idk what argument is being made here of a kicker being in camp or not lol. It was the same shit heap of kickers. They don’t need to learn a playbook. They kick the fucking ball. It dosent matter if Parkey or Santos were in camp it would have been the same flying football of shit missing the uprights.

There is something to be said about developing timing and comfort with the snapper and the holder.  It's not quite as simple as just show up and kick.

 

They seemed pretty nonchalant about the whole thing, which is ironic given how the team is built to play.

I did hate Santos, but they were in an unexpected tight spot. But it’s a good point. They should have been more prepared for a setback for Succup.  Although kicking seems to be horrid around the league this year.  I can live with this mistake.

Yes, but if the replacement scrub isn't hitting kicks in TC, you have time to bring in another, if only as a contingency. Willing to bet, JRob is wishing he had brought someone in.

The kickers already have a large enough sample that they wont be that far off from their past percentages.
