I doubt it, but you know they are probably going to look at how far back this goes. I don't think they would punish us given how long it has been but it could lead to a much harsher punishment for Williams. It was so long ago that it doesn't really matter at this point. But if you look at the 3 previous Titans DC's before Gray, Cecil, Schwartz and Williams, all 3 were known to have extremely dirty defenses. There's only one common theme among the three.... Being physical and knocking opposing players out of the game as been part of Football since it's inception. This isn't nearly the big deal it's being made out to be. He didn't, then he lied about it and tried to cover it up. Goodell will not look favorably on the program. But the coverup will add insult to injury. He will drop the hammer. Also, could this have some bearing on why Brees didn't sign the contract that would have made him the highest player in the NFL? Maybe he's trying to get out of NO before this all hit the fan? These bounties are happening on almost every team. Much like cheating was happening on almost every team. This is an opportunity for Goodell to strut his stuff in front of the camera's again. That part is a big deal but the application of it on the field doesn't bother me. Just like the spygate thing, most teams have an unwritten policy on this within their locker room they just aren't stupid enough to put it on paper like the Saints did. Also, the NFL is just responding to media pressure on this. It was damn obvious in the NFC title game a few years ago that the Saints were playing far beyond the whistle and were trying to hurt Favre. They did nothing about it at the time. They also failed to clamp down on Rex Ryan's comments about knocking CJ out of the playoffs. Fucking hypocritical as usual on their part. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mickey Loomis got caught lying to both Saints owner Tom Benson and those conducting the NFL’s internal investigation of the Saints’ bounty program. Loomis reportedly was asked about the Saints’ bounties in 2010 and denied knowing anything about it. He then ignored Benson’s orders to discontinue to program if it existed. “When informed earlier this year of the new information, Mr. Benson advised league staff that he had directed his general manager, Mickey Loomis, to ensure that any bounty program be discontinued immediately. The evidence shows that Mr. Loomis did not carry out Mr. Benson’s direction,” the league’s internal report reads, via Banks. “Similarly, when the initial allegations where discussed with Mr. Loomis in 2010, he denied any knowledge of a bounty program and pledged that he would ensure that no such program was in place.
