There’s no stopping China. The path was to surround them with allies who would not accept their terms without corrections in their philosophy. The tariffs aren’t the real issue, as without the TPP they’re a last measure to forcefully get them to comply. The problem is who’s at the helm. He’s alienated all of our allies who would stand with us. We do not want China to become the hegemon of the world. That is a dark place. They’re a backwards society who still legally put children to work. They have nets to catch people outside of Apple so they don’t kill themselves, and if they jump they’re sent right back to work. Their vision of the world is bleak. Trump only bolsters them, because he hasn’t once actually reached out to allies to discuss a pathway forward. It depresses me to know that people are out there that are so envious and I guess dissatisfied with their own lives that they pursue these tired and lame cut downs. I mean it's obvious this guy has logged in his notebook every aspect of my life and it drives him crazy. @LongTimeFan a bit of advice. Stop being an asshole and you may meet a wonderful woman like my wife. Stop being an idiot and the woman may be brilliant like my wife with great earning potential. And then of course her genes, if she is such a woman, even mixed with your genes might produce a daughter like mine who is wonderful brilliant and amazing. And if you apply yourself you may be able to score a job which, when combined with your wife's salary, will allow you to send that daughter to the best private school in town and live very well. And if you apply yourself for years you may one day, like me, be able to take vacations all over the world every year. And if everything goes well you may, like me, have a nice nest egg built up. At that point you may have the ability, like me, to take a more than 50%cut in salary in order to use the knowledge and skills you have gained in order to devote your life to one of service to others in a cause you deem important and worthwhile. And at that point you coild be actually helping the people your religious beliefs profess to care about. Or, you know, you could just keep being a bitter, angry troll that tries to shit on people you envy and throws half-baked bombs from the cheap seats in a desperate attempt to make such people feel as lousy and unfulfilled as you do. Best of luck big fella. I'm rootin for ya. Where to begin. First, I retired at 41. After selling a company with 2 partners for 9 figures. I haven't worked in 15 yrs. My investments produce almost 3 times my annual expenses. In the last 5 yrs I have saved probably more than you have in your retirement accounts. I am a part owner in some rehab hospitals that we plan to sell in 3-5 yrs. That will likely double my current net worth if not triple it. So a job is not in my future. One caveat, I may start a Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mikes franchise to see how it goes. I had a wife, but she was a greedy woman, so congrats on your prize. I have a wonderful 12 yr old son (who goes to private schools, also) with whom I have traveled all over the US and started traveling the world. Belize, Bahamas, Puerto Rico and Sweden was last summer, Machu Picchu and Galapagos this year, maybe Costa Rico. Australia and Fiji on deck for next year. I don't have to write things down in a notebook, I just have a damn good memory from when I read things. I have never professed to be religious, so maybe as a lawyer you should do better research. (That's probably why you never became a partner anywhere, or better yet why not get a notebook!) I have given more money to charities and underprivileged and friends then you probably ever will. I realize that I was at the right place at the right time and my hard work paid off. To whom much is given, much is expected. Envious, hardly. I spend my days fixing old 50's and 60's cars.
