BIG THANK YOU TO MYTHOS27

http://walterfootball.com/draft2019.php  Mock Draft LIVE at Noon**

I know this took you a considerable amount of time and effort.  I haven't read them all, but that Ohio State boy sounds intriguing.  These QBs get better and better after the season is over and start rising up the draft board.  Nobody wants to develop one properly because of the NFL players salary agreement.  Right now I kinda doubt we are taking a QB in round one. Trade up in two, but doubtful they would even if he's there.

Dwayne Haskins-Ohio State-6’3” 220 lbs

2nd round talent

Games Watched: TCU (18), Purdue (18), Mich St. (18)

Pros:Looks extremely comfortable in the pocket. Can throw receivers open with anticipation. Has a cannon and can use it accurately.Stares down the barrel of blitzers and makes the completion anyways.Quick release and can hasten it without losing a lot of accuracy on short throws when pressured.Climbs the pocket well and stands strong in it.Makes protection calls at the line. Smart player fully in control of the OH st playbook. Picks apart zone coverage.

Cons:Shows too much confidence in targets and will put the ball in harm’s way.Tends to underthrow the deep ball.Average athlete.Senses pressure well but does not have the feet/ability to evade rushers.Doesn’t throw to the middle of the field as well or often as he does to the boundaries. Not as many chunk throws as expected. Feasted off of 10-12 yard curls.Very average feet.Typical spread offense. Not one snap under center.

I based my opinion above from your write up.  I went back to watch the video.  His release point is too low.  He's a big kid, so he was probably always taller than the other kids coming up.  I think his passes would get batted down in the bigs.  Can he throwing motion be changed that much now to heighten his release point?  If not, I don't think he's going to last long.

Im starting to like Ryan Finley. Today was the first time watching him. Good mechanics, scans the field and steps up into the pocket.

I like Finley a lot, but he does have a bit of the Joe Flacco long release.

Most reports I have seen said he probably goes in Round 2 with a good Senior Bowl/Combine/Pro Day.

Another guy that grabbed my attention while watching him was WR Kelvin Harmon. Great a tracking and adjusting to the ball in the air and seems very physical in getting open and run blocking. If we add a spot WR in free agency, he may be someone to keep an eye on for us in the 1st or 2nd.

If we take a late flyer on a QB and do by take one early, the two guys I am interested in are Rypien from Boise State and Ta’amu from Ole Miss. Did you review either of them Mythos27?

Rypien was actually the next guy on my list and I stopped just short. I'll do a breakdown for him and Ta'mu for ya.

That's exactly the guy I was hoping would spark some discussion. I really liked him and think he may be available to us in the late first or possibly second. I'm sure you can tell from my breakdown that I think he's gonna be a good pro.

I've watched this guy in a couple of late West Coast games: Gardner Minshew

Anyone else see something of interest here? NFL Draft Scout has him ranked the #9 QB... 7 PASSING TD vs. AZ

I just took a look at his twitter. Smokin sister lol.

He seems to have an affinity for Titans football. Retweeted some McNair stuff, pic of Marcus saying Marcus is a fan, etc. I could see Jrob taking this guy if he falls in the 2nd/3rd.

I’m drafting Murray if he’s there at 19. If Lock falls to the 3rd I would also likely take a flier on him. The kid has pure arm talent, quick release, and is accurate. His mechanics would need a ton of work.

Glad you're not the GM. Friends don't let friends draft QBs who need phone books in the seat to drive
