Mike Vrabel

I think he is doing a great job for a newly assembled, late start, first time head coach facing fan expectations of getting past the first round in the playoffs.  I love Vrabel's aggression, but would a seven year head coach go for two against SD.  I still think it was correct, but it's the possible difference in being 5-3 or 4-3-1 now instead of 4-4.  The HC is just beginning his career.  The OC is in his first coordinator position.  He loses his all pro TE the first game.  How much planning had he put into using Delaine?  His most experienced and productive WR decides to leave him high and dry.  Think he spent time figuring how to get production out of him?

So they set sail, inexperienced and facing a storm just as they leave the harbor.  The QB starts out shaky and then hurts his hand.  They then face one of the top defenses in the league after losing a seven hour opener.  They wildcat a QB short team to a win, then win a FG battle with the media favorite to play in this year's SB.  Next they beat last years SB winner converting 4th downs like it a scrimmage against the 2's.

Adversity strikes again and again and again.  The shinny new paint starts chipping off and everybody sees these are some kids for the most part trying to win games in the NFL.   Pees is the only one with any length of experience.  The GM is good, but he can't help because he just got out of HS himself.  He's still trying to figure out what happened to all the good players he stocked the team with.  Then they go on national TV MNF and beat America's team.  4-4 What next?

There's no telling.  They are young, inexperienced trying to find their way, but I think they have a lot of promise.  I think we should stick with them and just learn to have patience.  I am still solidly behind this coaching staff.

I think Lafluer has had the biggest learning curve, you can obviously tell. I think Vrabel has been doing fine and Pees is great.

I like that after all the meathead talk Vrabel is pretty even-keeled on the sideline and in the press conferences.

He carries himself like he's been there before.

Hes a good coach honestly. More of our success relies on the coordinators.

There were a lot of good posters who were very concerned about his temperament.  Remember this infamous picture....

#Titans' rankings at season's midpoint:
OFFENSE
Overall - 30th
Rushing - Tied for 16th
Passing - 30th
Points per game -- Tied for 29th (16.8)

DEFENSE
Overall - 8th
Rushing - 16th
Passing - 8th
Points per game -- 1st (17.6)

Pees has the D working.  They are designed to play in even games or with the lead.  Holding teams to under 18 is excellent.  I think it would be even better if we had the lead often enough.  Five sacks @Dallas!!

Would you have had the same outlook had we lost this game?

I mean it started off really bad. They got lucky that Dak is worse than Mariota.

In all honesty we should have been down 17-0 in the first quarter.

That D.....

Is it your first or second job getting on here and bitching? I’m going with first and your second job is a temp.

He matured the moment he was hired, IMO.  I was shocked at how poor he handled some PCs in Houston.  Maybe he just didn't give af.  He's completely different now.  One thing I thought that he brought to the table was the loyalty and connection he could have with players and coaches.  And he immediately brought Pees out of retirement and convinced LaFluer to put his career on the line by taking the OC job.  That bodes well for the future.  And he's got the kind of charisma that this market really needs.

If you look at the poll @MIKE75 had up, you will see I graded JRob an A.  Last night just made it come up about the coaches being young.  Dallas is not that good, but they aren't a scrub team  They have a good record at home and their D had been playing about the same as the Titans, I think.  But the Titans had a plan offensively and defensively to beat Dallas.  They have come out with different plans of attack all season.  It shows the staff is versatile and talented enough to exploit weaknesses of other teams.  They are young, but they are ready to play today's football.

They showed big time adaptability by basically turning the running game over to Lewis.  Batson, whoever the hell that is, was out there making key receptions.  They take who they have and get the best out of them. You wait until they get some real talent and they switch up plans and schemes to beat opponents weaknesses.  This is something we had lacked.  We came out and smashed mouthed everybody.  People constantly complained about the team never making halftime adjustments.  It's a new day now.

Again we call a pass play from our 25 at the end of the half with 39 seconds left. This stupidity has to stop. I can't believe LaFluer is this naive.

You think Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees etc. Are going to let the clock run out without trying to put points on the board with that much time left.

The Rams had less than a minute against the Saints.  They not only got in FG distance, but they were throwing balls in the middle of the field to  pick up quick yards.  Something flukey happened the screw up their chance to make a decent throw into the end zone, but the got off a kick.
